I have been MIA

Hello everybody, I pray all is well with everyone.  I have been kicking up dirt everywhere.  I am just tired.
First and foremost I am still trying to put things in action and making things work for me.  I have been battling swelling in a way that has not been easy.  I did not let it stop me but it has slowed me down considerably.
I am finally getting some relief, finally starting taking fluid pills that actually really not move the fluid...yeah me....so I figure by next week I will be down a full 30lbs.  That just makes me mobile and more knoweable of my real weight.

I am still having test made to check on my pouch.  I have had a CT scan and and Upper GI, EDG schedule End of the Month.  I can say that I was always sure that I had a big pouch. I figured it out 8weeks after surgery and I saw it for myself on the upper gi. I was looking at the size of my pouch and my deflated real stomach and honestly my pouch was big.  I am saying about the size of a large peach.  that is pretty big. comparing that it should be the size of an egg.  At any rate nothing has changed for me. But getting the fluid off is my goal right now.

Texas Round Up Meet and Greet is on hold until September or October.  Will have something tentative soon.

I pray everybody is doing what they do. I just say seize the day dont let the day seize you. Be blessed.

di

Hi Lady,

Kudos to you on making it do what it do.
I know the fluid thing is hard to deal with and
hope it comes under control soon.  30 lbs
will be a lot of fluid to take off I know you will
feel better.

Hey my friend, you are right I started feeling better friday.  I took a different fluid tablet and a much larger dose within 15 mins of swallowing the pill I was in the bathroom and I can tell the difference this is 40mg of lasix taking it twice a day which means I am really having to drink the water and watch my potassium and electrolytes to keep from becoming dehydrated.  My little hctz was not helping me at all.  my feet still look like two boats but I can tell the difference in my legs and my pannus.

Di, do they know why you are retaining fluid?

I have had a problem with fluid retention since I was 10 years old. not all the time but some of the time.  no test ever show a problem. I was always told to watch the sodium. I did....I do.  what I have found over the course of the years is one common denominator...stress.   It appears (to me) when my body is crying out to rest, I swell like crazy.   What has always helped and gotten the problem totally under control is complete bed rest.  I have not had time for that and the fact that complete bed rest is one of the most painful things.  5 hrs in the bed is about all I can do to keep from waking up feeling really miserable.  I been forcing myself to stay 7 to 8  ...12 hrs 2 days in a row the fluid would really be gone.
Well I have a trip planned this week going to AUstin I will get some rest for certain. I am hoping by the next week to be as close to normal as possible.  I dont think normal is a word I can used but close is good.

Hey Ms PasterDi!

Sorry about all that fluid.  I'm not nearly as swollen as you and its making me crazy.  I hope you drain quickly.

Good looking into your large pouch.  Does that mean a revision is needed?  I can't imagine going through all this with a large pouch.  I need "tiny belly" as my daughter has named my pouch.  I could put a lot of hurt on a peach sized pouch.

All the best to you and if you ever need a call you know where to find me.   I want to get to the Houston area this year if I can swing it.  Fingers crossed, I can meet a few of our TX BA'ers.

Hey Sweetie,  thanks a bunch.  well with me I can eat a 1/2 a plate of food but sometimes not that much and that is based on something being portioned controlled.  So even with that being the truth, I still should have lost more weight.  Not sure about a revision but I am just looking at any and all options.  i did not go through all this to live the rest of my life still obese.
