Happy 8 year anniversary to me!!
I almost forgot about today being my 8 year anniversary of OPEN RNY. What a ride it has been... Surgery 7/10/02, Bowel Obstruction 12/5/05, and finally a self paid Tummy Tuck 2/21/08. My total lost WAS 134 pounds. I FAILED WLS in my 6th year and have gained about 37 of those pounds back . I still power walk everyday and decided for my 8th year anniversary to get back on track and join Jenny Craig. I have a meeting with a counselor on Monday. It is a little pricey however, I am worth every penny of it to get ME on track. My advice to a post-ops whether your 5 months or 5 years out, make the life style changes at the beginning of your journey, you will appreciate it in the long run. I took this pic last weekend at the Essence Festival.
Happy Surgiversary!

Happy Anniversary Rhonda! You look awesome!!! What a testimony you are for WLS. It works if you work it!!! And you my dear are working it!!!!!! I did Jenny Craig many years ago loved it. But as most of my "diets", I just did not stick with it after the weight loss and gained it back. :-( ( my fault not Jenny's)
Good luck to you with it! I am sure you will do great!!!
Enjoy your day Rhonda!!!

Dear Rhonda---
You have been an inspiration to me prior to my WLS and during my journey. I remember seeing your profile and wantingt to be "like this lady" when I grow up. lol. I STILL find you an inspriation. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE! It is my understanding that our MDs expect a 20% weight gain two years out. I have done this too and was beating myself up. I had a bowel obstruction tand stricture too, which gave me a weight loss boost that was very fast and dramatic. We have to balance our perceptions of how we looked when we lost "sick" weight and what our realistic goal should be. I looked sick at size 6. I am a 14 now. I feel ashamed at times, but am working toward a 10/12. Sister, you are not alone. We are SURVIVORS and SUCCESSES! We just need to get back on track. Before WLS, I would have never even noticed weight gains of 30 lbs because I bought everything like tents and did not weigh. We've made lots of positive changes, but just need a booster. I may try Jennie too. I bought the SHAKE WEIGHT off of QVC this morning.
I ENJOYED BEING "FINE". LOL.
