What's that about?  Has this person been a mentor to you in the past?

I know huh!  No, they have never been a mentor to me. However, they were in a similar position. 

Faith, without being there, it's hard to know whether they're full of it or if they might know something you don't.  I would look at a couple of things to determine how seriously I would take their critique:

1.  Has that person ever shown you any animosity or given you reason to believe they might have a hidden agenda?
2.  Was that person successful in that role when they held that position?  

It took me a while to fit into the culture where I work.  My personal face and my professional face are very different.  At first it felt fake, but then I realized that's not what it's about.  It was about learning the rules so I could manipulate them in my favor and win.

I have not given them any reason to show any animosity toward me or to have a hidden agenda against me.  Unless you  want to count the fact that I am well known for my abilities to get the job done, being very professional and extremely well liked by just about everyone.  I REALLY did not want to mention the fact that they were not successful in their previous position but since you asked now you know.

I am going to keep smiling and keep shining and keep doing what I have always done and that is paying it forward!

Never met you in person but from your pictures you have

a very pleasant look.  In fact I would say from your posts

you seem to be a positive and pleasant person all around..

There is always gonna be somebody with an opinion about.

Like everyone has said .... Do You!  You know funny thing is

people have told me I smile too much .... sheesh ....l forget

about it.  BTW ... what office are you running for?  I didn't know.

Thanks for your support.   I plan on doing me and I refuse to be taken out of my normal aura. I ran for City Council and won the election back in March.  My term becomes effective 07/01.

I actually have been volunteering with varioius charities, non-profits and serving as board member for several organizations prior to having lapband in 2007.  In our small town everyone has watched me lose weight and "blossom" with more confidence.  I originally wanted to run back in 2005 but felt timing was not right and that I did not have the foundation needed to build a successful campaign.  Thanks for your support.
