BAFamily...your much needed opinion/thoughts please!
Hello my BAFamily,
I am usually not the one who will post anything like what I am about to post. I usually keep private thoughts private no matter what. However, after thinking about it, I could not resist asking my friends their opinion.
I believe that I received my first test to see if I have thick skin or not on last night. I was pulled to the side by someone (I will not call a name or state their gender) who attended the Inaugural Ceremony and was told that they had some advice for me so I said okay sure. I am thinking to myself this will be something that I can really use as I begin this chapter in my life and they proceeded to say “you need to smile more." I said “Sir/Ma’am, excuse me" because I was thinking maybe I did not hear what was said because of all the crowd noise. They proceeded to say “you don’t smile enough" and I said “yes I do for the most part I always smile unless you catch me thinking about something and maybe I am concentrating and this may cause me to not smile but surely not frown" and they said “no you really don’t and I am supposed to tell you these things" so I decided to end the conversation by saying “okay, thank you" because I refused to allow this person to steal my joy on such a beautiful night. The few family members that I told about it last night were like “you have got to be kidding" and I said “I really wish I were."
I have always thought that I have smiled and especially when I am around people. I want my BAF friends to HONESTLY tell me if I don't smile or if I am unfriendly or what was the meaning of this comment. Like I stated earlier, I know I will be tried and tested in public office and Lord knows I hope it was a test!

I've been told the same thing, actually - so I feel you. Here's the kicker - if you DO smile more, some mofo will pull you to the side and tell you that you look fake happy! LMAO
you can't please everybody - you gotta be you - people will vote how they vote. Besides - any mofo stupid enough to base their opinion of you on how much you smile is too dumb to be registered to vote, so **** em.
I needed a laugh bright and early this morning. The funny thing is they are not even in my district...in my Curtis Payne voice...WTH!!!

It's been a while.....I believe everyone is on one accord..........don't let folks steal your joy. From your attitude on the board, you've always been positive and very helpful. I can't imagine that's a front so I'm sure that was just a distraction. I would say don't spend any more time on it - continue to do your best and be the best Faith you can be.
