I am curious to know if any person who has been post op  3 years or more (or had a revision), has used this medication to assist in maintaining their weight loss or help with losing after regaining some weight post operative?

Good question.  Me too.  I was wondering about Alii or Orlistat.

I have found that it does work with exercise. However my problem is not "how much I eat" but the choices I make when I eat.

I recently had a revision, but I have found that it only limits how much I can have of an item. But it hasnt taken away my ability to tolerate sugars, soda, candy, chocolate etc.

So I am using adipex to help me with the "self" control aspect. Also the physician that I found partnered the adipex with zoloft which he states will help with cravings and not having a desire to eat certain foods.

Im not sure about it all and was wondering what others have experienced.

I took it several years ago.It definitely suppresses the appetite and increases your metabolism. My dr. suggested I try it again.I have a upcoming appointment
next week and I'm going to take it every other 2-3 days this time around with a 1200 cal diet plan. Before it had me extremely hyper. Will keep you all posted.

I've used it and it worked at decreasing my appetite for a while then I guess my  body developed a tolerance to it.  My doctor said that was normal.

Okay, well I will continue to try it. I wasnt sure how it would affect our bodies as we already have deficiencies that are created due to the surgeries.

I am just wondering though, do you think it "helped" in the sense of doing what you wanted it to do in relation to maintaining your weight loss or losing weight?

Yes, it "helped" in decreasing my appetite so I ate less and lost the weight.  But, just like any other method used to loose weight, once you stop using the "aid", the weight will come back unless permanent changes are made in your regimen, lifestyle and routine.
