Is ANYONE in the Virginia/Maryland area CURRENTLY on Dilaudid and/or Percocets?
I have been having some issues with my stomach and my back since October 2009. I have been put on Dilaudid and Percocets, and I would like to know if there is anyone near me that is currently on the same meds of Dilaudid and Percocets, and if so what are your issues? This is really the first time since I've had the surgery in which I have started questioning my choice of having this surgery and July 18th I will be 6 years post-op but this is also the first time that I've had any problems. I feel like my body is no longer my own. I almost feel like an alien or a robot, and I just happen to inhabit my body but there is something big and bad taking over. I've had every test that you can name and nothing has come up. So now they want to do an exploritory surgery, but they want to keep the pain meds coming to keep me comfy.
Sorry to read that you are having such a bad time. Praying for your recovery. Be careful with those pain meds, they are highly addictive. Keep us posted.

That's the thing that most people don't realize is that PAIN MANAGEMENT only manages your pain by basically shoving the meds down your throat, lol. They don't teach you med free ways to manage your pain, thats what I thought when I was originally referred to them, but they are basically drug pushers with a license. I am grateful for them and what they've done thus far to able me to live my life painfree, but I wish someone would have told me how hard it would be to get off them, the withdrawals make you feel like you want to die. So right now I am in the process of trying to get off them.
Dang, that's messed up. The program that I'm familiar with in this area isn't set up like that. They do use some medications, but they also offer alternative treatment - massage, acupuncture, guided imagery, physical therapy, electrical nerve stimulation, etc.
Do you have a doctor lined up to help you with the withdrawal symptoms? It might be dangerous to try to do it on your own.
