Do you use your pouch effectively? How do you use your tool for weight loss?

KCB..you are a true inspiration!!! You are doing the right thing by staying focused and keeping accoutabtility! And sticking to protiens will always keep you full and this way you won't be tempted to eat sweets.....
Hey gorgeous! Wow..how timely is this?! The other day when I was reading your great post about long term lapband success, I read one of the contributors posts regarding her failure with her band and how she had revision to a sleeve. Confession time. I have gained some weight and have not been very successful getting it off and I was thinking "Should I have a fill (even though I have restriction and have been at my sweet spot )....or is my band just not working anymore?!
For a moment, I let the lazy mindset and fear filled thinking drive me to consider having a revision...and then...thank God...I came to my senses and ask myself the hard questions (as you have) Am I using this band correctly? The answer is NO! Don't get me wrong, there is a time to consider a revision when you know you are doing all that you can do and still not having success, but I knew deep down inside I was not doing all that I could do.
When we go back to basics and really look at what, when and how we are using the tool we've been given, more times than not it's a user problem not a device problem! Being inconsistent with my exercise and not really eating a clean "bandster" diet is my problem. I have restriction. I could use maybe a drop more BUT that wouldn't change my crappy behavior so before I do, I will get my **** straight, see how I am progressing and then make that evaluation again. If the weight still isn't moving, we go to plan B and have a fill. If I still am having issues...well...then we see the surgeon and find out why.
Great post sweetie.

You know B! I struggled with my band for awhile with fills and turns out my OWN surgeon was giving me bad fills, I am not blaming him things just happen, but every time I would get a fill it would only last for about 2 months and I would be loose as a goose, I even thought I had a leak....turns out....when he would insert the needle into my port there is a special technique to close the port when removing the needle...my port was NOT closing properly hence saline would slowly leak from my port and I struggled with losing weight for a whole freaking year!!! I was even considering a revision thinking by band was not working...
I am happy I stuck with my band coz now I have perfect restriction IF I use my band wisely and effectively.....getting a revision is not the answer to all of our problems those with the Sleeve have to work their tools too and there is a potential for their sleeve to stretch over time whereas the band will not stretch....also regardless of WHICH surgery we get we will all have to work them NONE ARE MAGIC WANDS -- ALL will require some exercise and eating properly to get to goal and maintain...so why not work the one you HAVE unless you have a complication and must get it removed otherwise go back to basics and use your tool effectively to fully benefit from it.
It is all about WHAT WE EAT like dense foods to fully benefit from our bands and we really don't have to do a lot of heavy exercise just walking daily to get pounds off....so it's not that hard just incorporate this into your daily routine...and I promise you will get some results quickly without too much effort.
