Hey... A few months ago I posted something on BAF... Questioning why people left or no longer respond and now I see it for myself... I still frequent BAF and sometimes respond but I feel more at home on the GBS forum and the PS forum because I get the support that I need there... I know that for myself I fell off with OH when I started Grad school in September and used my free time at work to do things in school...
One thing that I do not like on BAF is when and individual post a question about their health they get maybe like you say 2 repsonses and maybe 50-70 people who viewed BUT if the questions is about their sex life they get 15 responses and maybe 200 views...
I will continue to frequent BAF because there are many great people here but I would suggest to remain where you feel comfortable... Good luck.

I don't know. I haven't had surgery yet so I personally don't feel qualified to say too much of anything. I also am not fond of post with a gazillion congrats or one liners. I do think that some boards are more active than others so you have to use that. I use my surgery specific forum for those questions/problems. I also think boards are pretty much like RL...you have to establish yourself and your personality within any given group to get a dialog going. This board seems fairly quiet so its gonna take..someone..lets just say you to start posting something and commenting and folks will usually follow.

It**** or miss if I answer a post. It all depends on what I've got going on. I give a lot of support so I get alot. However, if I open a post from a newbie and its long, chances are I will not read it or I'll come back to it later.
I posted first time after over five years as an OH member. Quick to the point when the board was very active. I may have got two or three replies. That was fine since I don't need a dozen people to tell me the same thing.
In general, newbie questions are along the same lines and get repettitive. Many people will not answer the question that has already been answered. Few responses but what you need. Lack of volume is not personal.

Welcome Deon!! And welcome to the loser bench. You will always get more replies to your post on the main board because there are many more viewing the main boards than the other groups and forums. There are many who join OH.com and they only use the main boards.
Me personally, I use the whole site. I have several groups I belong to and the main forum and BAF also. I don't feel it is a lack of support on BAF. It is all in the numbers to me.
Also I feel long post are overlooked unless something really catches someone eye. Shorter post will get you better and maybe more responses for sure. Time is a factor and unfortunately every one is on a time line.
Keep up the good work and KIT.

Hey Deon,
I just went to look for you post and honey the red color was too much for me to look at, I closed it back right away. With the length and the all red lettering it was like WOW!!......:-) Just a recommendation and I am not trying to offend just letting you know my experience.
Also remember you get what you put in and the more you post the more we get to know you and you will get a response. I still believe you will have do shorter posts because if you get to be known for meaningless and lengthy posts, people will not even look at your posts eventually.
Again congrats and keep up the good work!
