Well I Had Another Stay In The Hospital

I've been having abdominal swelling and pain for a few weeks and then it started to affect my breathing. I thought it was gas or constipation. I started taking laxitives and drinking green tea and smooth move tea. Then my throat started hurting like strep throat. I couldn't get in to see my pcp but another dr. and he thought it was allergies and maybe adhesions. He knew something was up because my pulse rate was so high. He had the pharmacy mix me a concoctiom of benadryl, mylanta and lidocaine to numb my throat so I could at least get my protein drinks down and they could monitor me. They put me on antibiotics and sent me home. Well I was doing better with my symptoms except for the swelling and pain. My hubby had to drive me around to pay some bills on last Wed.

My color drained from me and I couldn't stand up straight and I was sweating. I haven't been able to wear pants because of the pain and swelling. He took me to the ER and they did a contrast CT scan and saw a partial bowel obstruction. They asked me if I cared to be treated there and I said that was fine. I was in so much pain and my hubby was gone to the dr. to get his finger drained because he had been bitten by a spider. So I was by myself. I DID NOT have my bypass at this hospital but I was in pain and not thinking clearly. The nurse comes in with an NG tube but the ER dr, stops her and says the surgeon here doesn't want to take me since he didn't do my surgery so he calls my surgeon in Nashville and he wants me there. By the time my hubby gets back they have called an ambulance to take me to Nashville.

The hospital in Nashvile doesn't trust the scan from my hospital and takes some xrays the next morning. I was given morphine and zofran through the night. The xrays showed the contrast had gone through my bowel and into my bladder so I couldn't have an obstruction. They kept me until I had a bm and said they saw some swelling in my lower bowel and they won't do surgery just for adhesions. Whew that was a close one. It's been a long few months, I'm speaking healing into this body right now in the name of Jesus.

OMG what are they going to do to treat the adhesions?  Are you still in pain?  I am praying for you. 

I'm speaking healing in agreement with you.  But keep being

persistant and speak up for YOU no matter what they think ....  the symptoms

are.   Don't worry about anyone's feelings at this point ....... Listen!!!!!  "YOU" are the,

"STAR" at this point!!!!!  Make sure all YOUR needs are addressed  before you 

proceed.   You are in my prayers and make them check everything.  Keep us informed.
