No truer words were every written.  It's not my problem it's there.  I only told them about it because we have been good friends for so long.  I'm generally a private person so not many people know about my decision.

For now, leave them out of your life. Stay focused on the positive aftermath.

I am going through some of the same things.

I usually give family and friends a test.  I casually bring up wls by either mentioning someone else who had it done or bringing up  before and after pictures of a person who had it done.   If I get any negative vibe, I don't even discuss it.

I don't want no negative nothing around me, I am already scared to just to have surgery.  So, if someone try to bring it up, that I no is negative, I say "I am just going to do what I think is best for me" and walk away.   Or I say, "good thing I get to make this decision, and I will surely educate myself to make the best one."

I don't even know if I want anybody with me in the hospital, fell it is my time to rest and reflect on the changes that will be occurring. In the peace and quiet of the hospital, this could be because i have 3 kids at home too.

You are right negatively weighs you down and we don't need that.  I'm in a good place right now.  I'm exercising, losing weight and feeling good.  I feel blessed and I'm not going to let the devil steal it.

I was thinking the same thing about the hospital stay.  If I could drive home I would go by myself. lol

You know what I think...I think they may feel as you start loosing more weight and your body starts changing, that in some way your friendship with them will also be lost or start changing. When my best friend had this surgery and she started losing weight she started being more active, and meeting new people and "living" instead of just surviving. But surviving was something we always did together. We ate together, cryed together and gained and lost weight together, and I just felt that she would no longer want or needed my frienship after losing so much weight. At first i was upset at her for choosing to do it. I tryed everything to talk her out of it not because I did not want her to be healthy, but subconsciously, I thought I would lose her and our friendship along with her weight too. So be paitent with them. Take them to one of your meetings. try to informthem as much as possiable about this surgery. But most of all let them know how important their friendship is to you and that you need them most at this point in your life for support and understanding. Tell them they may not agree with this surgery, but try to understand where you are coming from. I bet they may be just as scared as you..

Thanks Deon for the kind words, you made a lot of sense.  I think you are especially on to something about them thinking they would lose me.  I really think after all these years of friendship they should know me better than that.  Anyway I'm praying for patience.
