Missing my doggy so bad today...i need some BAF love
My condolences to you!
Our dogs have always been full members of the family, and like human family members, the memories of our lives and experiences with our pets are rich, and their loss is devastating.
As to whether or not pets have souls and go to heaven, I find it impossible to believe that they don't.
God allows humans the bonding, love, and close kinship of pets to blossom and enrich our very lives, so why deny us of them later? It makes absolute sense to believe that they are to be present and participating later, like they do in our lives.
Is it not our very souls (ours AND theirs) that allow for the love & bonding across species to even occur? They were simply not given (burdened) with the additional attributes, and therefore expectations of humans. I think you articulated it well in your statement toward the end of your original post!
The love we have for our pets allows our human capacity for love in general to expand and deepen; what an enormous blessing! I know God wants that for us!
Hugs,

I lost my dog in December. I had him for 14 years and I missed him somuch when he died. He was so sick, but I still hated to see him go. I cried for weeks. I adopted another little dog from the the animal shelter. He is a joy to have, but I will always remember Mr. Chester.
I can understand how you feel.
