I was wondering if I could get some help or suggestions.  Has anyone with Locs had a problem with hair loss.  I have long  locs down my back.  I havent had any problems since Ive had them, no thinning, breakage, etc.  Im 7 weeks out from RNY and Im concerned about the 3 month time frame that people potentially start to lose hair.  Any help in this are would be greatly appreciated!

I have locs and experienced no hair loss.  I did not do anything special I just continued my usual hair regime.  Make sure your hair maintains it's moisture (you may experience dry skin & hair) that is important during this process. I spray in Isoplus leave in conditioner on my locs & scalp several times a week & there is no build-up...

I don't have locks but I do have hair loss.  My hair is natural.
Lots of thining but no breakage.

When I take biotin and keep the protein at 100g vs the initial 71g-89g per my nutritionist, I have no hair loss.  I heard this on the rny board, but I waited untill the loss was heavy before starting the biotin.

If I had it to do over I'd add an extra scoop of protein a day from the start.  I would also have included the biotin from day one.  Whenever the protein and biotin slip, the hair loss comes back.

Everyone does not loose hair.  Hopefully you'll be one of the lucky ones.  I hope I've been helpful.

Your locs should be fine as long as you keep your protein up.  Locs do a lot to protect the hair. Mine were fine, but then I cut them off for other reasons.

Having RNY was probably the best thing I've ever done for myself.

Approx highest weight: ~350. Highest measured weight: 338. Surgery weight: 297. Lowest weight (for 5 minutes): 169. Current weight: 209. Goal weight: ??? - maybe 180-185, which was my maintenance weight before the regain.

Your locs should be fine.  However, mine did thin a little and I had a few fall out, but I continued to take my biotin and my hair is really beautiful.  It has gotten really long now and I am thinking of cutting them off.
