I have been wearing weaves since surgery (3/24/09) and i use this stuff called organics root stimulator and I just use the dropper and put some right on the braids thru the netted cap.  Good luck.

I don't know what kind of hair you have but a lot of the regular beauty supply brands are just not good in quality and will not last whatever products you use.

If you have curly hair I would conditioner wash (wa**** with conditioner instead of shampoo) it and use a little bit of conditioner as a leave in. My fave conditioner is Dove Daily moisture.
If you have straight hair use the same Dove Daily moisture shampoo and conditioner make sure to rinse all conditioner out. Get a good flat iron. I have a Jilbere porcelain series from sallys it was cheap about $40. You can use what ever flat iron you like just make sure it gets hot enough. Also get a heat protectant this helps with some sheen and keeping the hair in tact. I use the Beyond Zone Turn up the Heat protectant from sallys too. HTH

If you have anymore questions and I'm not on send me a PM.

5' 7 3/4 I claim 5'8 SW/CW/GW 267/144/160 <---Dr's goal. My goal was 165lbs. Trying to build muscle. So, unsure what weight I'll be at  once I meet my fitness goals.
