First Time I Filled Up My Pouch

Tonight I decided to try something different for my post op liquid diet, day 11.  I had some dry soup powder in the pantry that I have been having since my pre-op liquid diet.  Never really had the chance to try it and since I kept smelling the jambayala I made for the fam earlier, soup it was.

Of course, being a country boy from Louisiana, I decided that I had to spice it up a bit.  So, I added some Cajun seasoning, crushed red peppers, and parsley flakes with just a little bit of black pepper.  Now, it may have been the lack of real food in a while, but let me tell you, it was damn good.  I put some in a small bowl and sipped on it while hot.  It was egg noodle soup with chicken broth and I sipped until the third burp.  Never felt full, but I figured that was probably the most I've had since surgery.  And since I have only gotten my total calories for the day up to the 500 range once, I figured I better not push my luck.  Only 3 days for eggs.

First of all you are pretty dam brave and a bit crazy to be eating pepper on a 11 day old pouch.

I am always amazed at how fast people test their pouches now a days,  there is no dam well in hell I would have eaten Cajun seasoning, crushed red pepper and top it off with black pepper.

Glad you didn't get sick

Didn't get sick.  Don't worry, it was just sprinkles for flavor.  It's not like I put a whole pepper in there.

I only had three days on liquids but spicy was the only way I did puree.  Especially the meats.  Ain't it great to be FULL!

When I had surgery,  you were told not to test your pouch with stuff like that for at least 6 months.   Guess things have changed.

How soon can you guys have salad now?   We couldn't have it for 6 months to a year.
