hair loss
I am worried about hair loss after weight loss surgery. Not so much the losing of some hair, which is to be expected, but because i like to keep my hair in cornrows i was wondering if it will cause me to lose even more hair, Since we as black americans have different hair textures does anyone know if some of the natural hairstyles some of us wear will have an impact on the amount of hair we will lose?

Oh I love the Betty Boop avatar, I even got a Betty Boop Credit and Check card....regarding hair loss, I guess it depends on the type of surgery you are getting, I got the lap band and we absord all nutrients, so I am not sure which type of surgery you are getting? If it is malapsorptive, then you may have greater issues with hair loss since you will not be absorbing all of your calories and you may ask other Bypass people on hair loss -- most bandsters don't have this issue unless they keep their band really tight and barely eating, I take Bioton for hair, nail and skin, I take about 2,500 mg per day, and I have not had any hair loss. Good luck
My hair is natural. I had lots of thining but no breakage. I basically condition wash and wear, thats it. Biotin and keepng the protein high took care of the thining. If I slack off on either it starts again.
I can't speak for the type of do since I place little stress on my hair. Only color every few months.
