OT - Diary of A Tired Black Man/ABC Nightline
My point: We can't keep expecting that our woman is going to be all 4 of the needed women in our lives.
So what do you do? Lower your expectations? Those are some really good qualities to look for in a person. Well, wait....I don't think it would work out with my man if he was gay, but the others sure sound good to me

Nah. Don't lower your expectations, Luv. No need for that. Just know that he ain't ever going to be 100% in each area 100% of the time. Word.
As for the man being gay (well ya gotta hear Steve Harvey do the joke to understand it fully) but the gay guy is just there to listen to all of her issues and exploits with all of her other men. She'll never try to bed down the gay guy but he stays 100% in his spot that she puts him in according to their friendship boundaries.
The joke is funny but deep.

Didn't see it. Doubt I'll watch either program. I'm soooooo tired of discussions that narrow our relationships to these over simplified 'types'. We are complex as individuals and as a microcosim of society. These programs too often forget this when 'analysing' our relationships. I've heard the same spin on 'analyses' since the 80's. I'll skip it this time around.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
OK.
So I watched the Nightline thing this morning on the computer.
Both sides made valid points. One of the things that I knew and this convo validated is the lack of communication between the sexes. Because of the lack of FRANK, HONEST communication, there IS a lot of MIScommunication. Also, because of the nature of these situations, emotions usually get into the way and people take these things a bit too personally. I know I have on occasion.

"When Alexander saw the breadth of his domain, he wept for there were no more worlds to conquer." Plutach. Not true, for there are always more worlds to conquer.

Let me say this.
Women/Men- If you see a guy/girl an he/she peaks your attraction and you think there is something approach him/her by all means. If he/she feels same way and approaches you by all means speak. But if there is nothing there to peak attraction or curiosity from either party, why they hell get mad/attitude because they turn you down in a nice way. You could be the nicest brother/sister in the world but if nothings there attraction/physical/mental move the F&^%^&*^( on.
Hope I didn't offend.
