Summer Thailand trip CANCELLED due to Political Unrest

People are being hurt and killed and I was about to finalize my plane tickets on Friday.
It sucks but I would rather be safe than in some political incident. Thinking about Australia now.
U.S. warns citizens about travel to Thailand
WASHINGTON Mon Apr 12, 2010 10:11pm EDTWASHINGTON (Reuters) - The United States government on Monday warned Americans traveling in Thailand to be vigilant and stay away from some popular tourist areas after 21 people were killed and 800 injured in weekend protests.
The U.S. State Department said political demonstrations in Bangkok were expected to continue through the Songkran Thai New Year holidays from April 13-16.
It warned Americans to avoid areas where demonstrations were taking place, including Khao San road, a popular tourist street for budget travelers in the old town.
"U.S. citizens are reminded that even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence with little or no warning," it said. "U.S. citizens are urged to avoid the areas that may be targeted for demonstrations and to exercise caution in their movements around Bangkok.
Tourism, which accounts for 6 percent of the Thai economy, is suffering after scenes of heavy fighting in Khao San Road.
The State Department said travel to Thailand remains "generally safe" but the possibility of explosive attacks could not be ruled out. "U.S. citizens are reminded to exercise caution and vigilance at all times." it said.

I am really bummed cause I really was looking forward to Thainland and the surrounding countries. But just like with Egypt i'll just have to wait until things calm down and go then.
I am just happy and thankful that I can travel the way I can so I guess I should stop complaining.
Heck, with the way things are now in Mexico, South America and other places, I wasn't planning on and SHO ain't thinking about leaving the US
I'll stick with getting beaten, shot, stabbed or otherwise assulted by my fellow americans, thank you very much. I prefer my bullets to be Black owned and operated.

I don't know if my government will be willing to send Clinton to some country to bring back 2 black and puerto rican chicks, even if we do have a "Negro" president. LOL
It's going to be between Australis or Japan, but my honey bunny really wants Australia so that may be the destination.
