I lost a friend...
Perhaps you should reevaluate your definition of 'friend'.
I didn't lose a single friend as a part of this journey......I have been able to free myself of some unproductive, negative azzholes tho.........
To me, anyone in your life that you preceive as caring for you should support your decision and sincerely wish you well. If anything WLS gave me a litmus test for the mofos I had around me - not all of them passed, and they are not missed!

Sometimes loss is a good thing. Seems you were carrying around other dead weight besides pounds. It's always good to shed that type of load. Just like the weight, they mean't you no good. It has happened to most of us.

You find out who your real friends are when good things happen in your life because they will be happy for you. The others will not be able to stand seeing you prosper and will either get nasty or else separate themselves from you.
This happened to me not only when I lost weight. It happened when I was offered my choice of full fellowships to two great graduate schools. It even happened when I got married.
Honey, shake the dust off your feet and keep moving. Be happy and enjoy your blessings.
Ditto what Mack Momma said. I haven't lost any real friends. I did get rid of a few folk that I thought were friends but were actually just acquaintances. One of em put up a status message on FB saying "people that have WLS are cheaters" LMAO I guess she was just mad she's still in a 24 and I'm in 10s? Oh well, the party goes on!
