X-post What are the pros and cons of RNY??
Nah - that's not true either - LOL!
I can eat sweets - in SMALL amounts - without dumping.
But - there are quite a few people that do not dump AT ALL. My dumping has no rhyme or reason. Whatever I eat today, I can eat again next week and get sick as a dog. Eat it again next month, no problem.
The reaction to things post RNY can be fickle - one thing EVERY post op knows.....we NEVER try new things away from home! LOL - cause we ALL have a story about getting sick in public. So - it really does just depend on the surgeon and the person.
The really critical thing with RNY is following the program - I had to relearn how to approach eating and realize it's not the focal point of my life. I had to learn that it's okay to taste this or that - I don't HAVE to eat it all. I had to learn that I have to FEEL my pain, not FEED it.
RNY is 10% physical, 90% emotional/mental - I had to make a pro/con list on ME to decide if RNY would really work.
