HOLD MY FEET TO THE FIRE! ACCOUNTABILITY POST

A month weigh in would never work for me and statics show that people who weigh weekly maintain and lose weight better.  there are even studies that show weighing daily is good also.  Monthly give you a chance to go hog wild.  When you do not know you could gain a pound every day and not know it until 30 pounds later.  At least on day seven you have chance to check yourself before it gets to 30 lbs.  That is just an example.  I recommend rethinking your decision to weigh on April 30th. I got off track and I am in the process of getting my act back together 80 pounds later.    Have you discussed this with your surgeon?  Hang in there and keep up the good work.

Oh wow! I didn't even think of it like that. I was just trying to control my compulsion to weigh myself each day. But now that is out the door. I will weigh in once a week. That way I can see what I am doing right and wrong. I don't want to be 30 pounds heavier..Oh no no no..thanks Ms. Molly.

Hello,

Here is an inspiration I pulled for you.  The scale can be your friend.  Make peace with the scale...:-)

Weight Loss Surgery Daily Inspiration For June 25, 2008

Don't let the scale make you crazy.

Many people use the scale to determine how they should feel about themselves on a given day. If it is frozen or moving up, they get a strong urge to throw in the towel and eat, eat, eat. But paying such close attention to the scale and making self-judgments based on its movements is not motivating. You haven't gone through WLS to be uncomfortable and to feel badly about yourself.

Yes, you need to check your weight consistently, but you do not have to check it daily. And you can work on the self talk you use when you do weigh yourself. If the scale makes you crazy, then you know what you need to work on. You can work on changing how you think about the scale and how you treat yourself as a result of weighing.

Action for the day: In your journal, write about your feelings when you weigh yourself. Are you at peace with weighing? Take some time to sort out what you can do to bring some sanity into your relationship with your scale.

I am having a good week with cardio.   I have exercised 3 days in a row over 35 min each day and 2 more days to go to reach my goal this week.  and my eating has been OK also, so I am feeling good.

I hear ya on the no honeymoon phase...my body held on to the weight from the start! Even on the pre op liquid diet!! Oh well......

Protien done, vits almost there, 3/4 done with my new 96 oz water goal. Today was a rest day so gym tomorrow! I had a showdown at the store with th 75% of easter candy...all of my favorites tried to seduce me. But I won....pastelle white cocolate bunnies and the rest of her sugary friends were left on the shelf.

Victory!  Congratulations to you.

I wanted a peep.  Just one.  I buy a little pack, have one, and ditch the rest.   Would you believe there were zero left over peeps out there? LOL, saved from myself.

Girl..why did they have the jumbo packs( 3 boxes wrapped together) of peeps all colors 75% off today in Target. My son wanted a pack and I was reluctantly going to buy him one...but bless his heart he decided to put them back for a single serve pack of goldfish.

.......I don't get it. If my mom wanted to treat me to free extra easter candy, I woulda been on it!!!

Just like on easter, his basket laid around and he barely nibbled on it.......he was more intrested in the toys. Meanwhile I was on my first diet at his age (8 years old)

LOL, I bet that's why I could not find those damned peeps.  I did not even look at the big packages.  If it would not fit in my palm it did not get a glance.

Lets hope your son stays that way with the sweets and other treats.  What a blessing.
