I thought losing the weight would change my relationship for the better
It's funny that you would say that bc that is what happened last week. I didn't do laundry on Sunday like I normally do so Monday when I got off of work I told him I was going to the gym. He whined and complained that he didn't have any clean uniforms for work (yes, he does know how to was clothes. Yes, he could've went and washed his own). I said ok. I loaded up my car and said, "i'll see you around midnight" and was gone in a flash. I went to the gym and then washed & folded the clothes. I was tired as all hell the next morning but I showed his behind.
O.k., you never said you gave 'birth' to this brother...so why are you washing his clothes - whether he knows how or not...isn't the issue. You are not in a good relationship - it will never be good if: 1. he doesn't change his attitude toward you and the relationship; and 2. You don't stop enabling this man.
Understand - he is just NOT THAT INTO YOU! Move on...and see what happens...he may not be the person you are to be with.
Lemme say this - ANY GROWN ASS PERSON WHO WORKS EVERYDAY, KNOWS HOW TO WASH THEIR OWN ASS, GET UP AND GET DRESSED...AND HEADS TO A JOB...
CAN WASH THEIR OWN DAMNED CLOTHES, PERIOD...DOT! He's not making a fool out of you - you are doing that all by yourself...by allowing him to treat you as he does...JUST STOP IT!
LOVE YOURSELF - IN EVERY WAY - FIRST, before you go confessing love to someone else. Seek the TRUE meaning of SELF-LOVE!
O.k., I'm over and out!
DD
P.S. - I didn't post this to hurt you...but hopefully, to help you to understand that it's o.k. to walk!

Hello, I am DTray......I haven't read the other's post, so I am only responding to what I have ead here. And to only one point. "Am I changing or is he?"
You are both probably changing.......you are for sure! I have noticed what seems to be common amongst us........after surgery, it seems that we become ALOT more self focused. This is acted out in many different ways.....some that we are not always aware of. I could go on, but won't. But let me say this.......it doesn't have to be so bad, but it has to be recognized and addressed. With proper communication and alot of patience and understanding, you both can work through this journey you are on. Blessings to you!!

ROFL @ Mack Mama....too funny! No, I am not his mother but I will take credit for some of the monster I created. Since he and I have been together washing clothes has been "my thing" and honestly going to the laundromat is my break from my this house, my bf and my son. So him expecting me to wash his clothes is, somewhat my fault. It may not seem like it but he does have good qualities, but as is most often the case the bad qualities are those that we or I, for sure, tend to dwell on.
But it is what it is....I'm not going to drive myself nuts trying to figure things out. He's probably the perfect man for somebody, just not me.
