Office staff in Drs. Offices

As I continue on my quest with all the pre op appts. I have run into delima after delimma with office staff. I am always courteouse and pleasant, while on the phone or either in person but I keep running into office staff who can be very rude, lazy, or just simply over whelmed.  My backround is patient care (specifically, front desk) and I thought that I was really helpful to mostly all of my patients. I just dont know what it is these days, I am at thier mercy so i just bit my tongue, or just ignore it and pray that they send all my records to my sergeon.....just venting....

of life, especially when we need their help.  Keep

them in prayer and know that God is your greatest

advocate!!!!  Keep turning it over to God.  I'm agreeing

Its funny that you would post this. The last 4 weeks have been literal hell for me regarding doctors offices. As it pertains to WLS I took all the tests needed and all my docs said they signed clearnce papers for me. Every person in each office said they would fax the papers. I learned ( at least here in the Bronx) that when these people tell you they will fax it that translates into" Oh maybe Mary will do it in the morning". I am the type of person at this point in my life where i dont wait on nobodys fax to be sent on my behalf . I want a hard copy in my hand or in my mail box so that when they fugg up and dont send my papers that i have them with me so I can give to the surgeon or doc. I have been chronically ill for a few years and I tried the nice guy stuff years ago but not any more. I am not rude to any office staff here in NYC but I will be dammed if I am gonna trust any of these rude mofos here to tell me they gonna fax something when i know dam well most people tell you that just to keep you movin.                                                                 Like I said in my case I have been chronically ill prior to this whole WLS thing so my experience is extensive with a lot of unnecessary nonsense from Doc offices staff. Yeah I know the deal ......everybody is overworked and underpaid but you dont play with someones health . I even had a doc one time who was rude and lazy regarding reading the results of a sleep test I had taken. She told me no she didnt read it. SHE HAD 2 WEEKS TO READ IT !!! Fortunately the sleep lab had sent me th results and sure enuff I had Sleep Apnea and they needed another refferal from her ( my doc at the time)  for further testing to know exactly what to set my CPAP presuure at. How were they gonna get a refferal from her when she rudely told me she hadnt even read the report ?  Sorry to ramble on but you aint crazy at all. Always be on top of things because its your best interest that count.......not anyone elses when it come to ya health

That is good to know goodtagasoloo! I didnt even think of recieving copies myself for all the test results. Thank you.

I went to each of my doctors, picked up my records, and delivered them to my surgeon's office.  I had to "buy" them by paying a copying charge but I got my entire file.  It was worth the trouble.
