Follow up RNY with Surgeon or PA ???
I am so confused....
I don't know if I should be Happy Now or just wait till the day before to celebrate.
I have a question ...
After you had your surgery and went back for the follow-up visit. Did you see the surgeon or his PA?
The reason I am asking this, is cause the health co-ordinator
called me around 11:30 am today and told me she had to switch my surgery date cause doctor would be out of town the following week after my surgery date. She stated he didn't feel comfortable leaving bypass patient. So then she states that I can go on the 16th, 2 days before the scheduled date of the 18th.. Yeah., and I was like "cool, I will take it." 
Then she gets on the phone and states how about the 30th cause he will be out of town, blah blah blah.
I was like 
"what happened to the 16th that you offered", and she is like," well we can schedule you for the 16th but he will be out of town for follow up". Im like, "cant his PA see me, doesnt she see his patients".? She was like, "yeah, but it's what he feels comfortable with". 
Well, she scheduled me for the 16th, rather than be happy, she left me with lingering doubts of whether or not it's true. I have to do my pre-admission tresting tomorrow and get clearance from pcp on thursday cause he isnt in on Wednesday. I'm afraid to get all happy and excited about 2 days earlier, because I don't want to Jinx it and don't want to set myself up for disappointment.
Ugghhh.... What to feel, what to feel...
She totally put a damper on my day... I'm thinking, hmm well, its been like 4 hours since her call, and she didnt call back, so is it a go???? 
Damn mind is all over the place... lol 
I apologize for the emoticons... makes me atleast find a a little humor in this scenario...

My surgeon sees all his patients. No PA.
Even for my annual, I needed to reschedule. Despite no serious issues he must see me personally. I go through the other staff first ,then he finishes up with their assesments in hand.
It has been like that since pre op. I would not trade this for a PA visit. Call and confirm then be happy its sooner rather than later.
