New memeber to OH. In the process of all the appointments. So many appointments Im getting discouraged, trying to organize them and just following up. Im like why cant they just do what they need to do in one appointment, why do I always have to come back for another appointment. Just fustrated, not sure, what I should be eating, or doing to prepare myself...I dont even have a date...just a little down.

u r embarking on a LIFE changing journey, try not to be so impatient........u r having surgery and those test and procedures to prep u take time, not sure of all u have to do but just take your time.....i was anxious also but i knew i had to endure the process........hell, i waited 3 years to get my surgery.....i knew another few weeks of getting all the testing and prep stuff done wasn't a big deal......stay on top of things but don't agitate people, just smile and bear it......it'll be all over before u know it........

as far as diet and exercise, just do as much as your doc has instructed u too.......if they haven't provided any guidance.........the basics are, finding what protein sources will work for u after surgery, vitamins, etc.......any exercise u can do now do.....walk......ie, i joined a gym 1month before sugery and lost 5lbs....

focus on what you'll look like and feel like..3months, 6months, 1year after surgery.........that's what helped me...............good luck

I was approved with a date in less than 30 days.  Then I waited seven months and even changed surgeons.  This is not something you want quick because it must be absolute perfection.  This is for life.

Review each type of surgery again.  Check out qualified surgeons again.  Look at pros and cons of eah procedure again.  Think of the required life style changes again.  I could have gone from initial appointment to surgery in less than sixty days.  I'm glad I did not.

I can't stress enough that there is no turning back.  Your psych evaluation will be looking for your sense of certanty.  Know what you want your life style to be in a few years after active weight loss is done and you're maintaining.  Kow which surgery will best match that desire.

Depending on your insurance and surgeon, it can takes weeks to a year.  Its doubtful you can do much about that.  Use the time wisely.

 Asiarmecca,

It is a long process and you will get frustrated, but don't give up. This whole process is a mind game and some of us don't do well. You will get your date. Start cutting back on your food intake and drop the sweets all together. Drink 64oz of water every day... Your new birthday is on it's way. I felt the same way you're filling now. Keep posting your thoughts, the people on here are  your life line and they  will help you through this. They did for me.......
Remember if know one told you they love you today, God loves you and so do I.
