OT: My apology to all that was offended!

Good morning,

I would like to extend my deepest apologies to those that was offended by my post yesterday! I think I could have used better wording when describing the situation regarding our colleague that passed away. But I was trying to honestly convey a very difficult situation that I was put in and I am sure those who are honest would have done the same thing and reacted the same way I did to protect themselves.  My post was not intended to be homophobic in any shape or form! I PM'd a fellow bandsters that is gay because I felt this is the ONLY person that I may have hurt and I told him so, because I have always thought well of him.

But this apology is not intended to the nasty, vile masses that hang out on the R&R that seemingly do not enjoy life after weight loss surgery and attack anybody in droves that is frankly "normal". I know some of these people probably have health issues, vitamin deficiencies that make them act "rabid" in nature and have given Obesity Help a "bad name".

And oh by the way I am still an inspiration to many and used to be a regular on these boards and have helped so many in so many ways, I will still offer support when I can but again I am nearly 5 years post op and I am truly enjoying my new banded life!

In a public space there will always be someone who does not like a post or the responses.  So what? 

The best thing about a message board is we can choose to read it, skip it, or add our own two cents at will.  Unlike face to face where we must react in the conversational moment, we can skip all posts from those we don't like or respect.  
 
It was an intereting question about contagins not this guy's life choices.   It made me think.  I'm glad you asked it.   If my opinion earns me enemies, we all have a block buton. 

Thank you so much you are so sweet! I honestly did not mean to hurt anyone or their feelings, I am not sure why people get upset so easily on these boards, I thought this was the place to come to hide and vent and share things we normally would not anywhere else!

I don't know what happened but you were simply being honest with your feelings. If someone has a problem with that...then its their problem not yours. Its not like you were calling the man all kinds of names or speaking in a disrespectful tone about him. You simply were trying to be careful, trying to learn and get feedback. If you were homophobic..I don't think you would have put the question out there...common sense. You know people from all walks of life frequent this board.    I had more issues with the speculations than anything else. As I said before, we should use universal precautions...even if we don't know someone's hx...cuz that when we will get blindsighted....all the more reason to be careful. 

Thank you MD, you are so special to me, someone I could really call a good friend, I don't have a mean bone in my body, I think if anyone would have been put in my situation they would have took precaution, this is what I can't stand about these boards, there are a lot of FAKE people on these boards, this is why I come here to post, I would not share this type of stuff anywhere Else, I post things on here that I do not share with my family and friends sometimes coz I use these boards as medication to vent talk about things...but I guess I will start using these boards as if know people in real life...I have REAL FRIENDS in REAL LIFE, I don't come here to get friends use these boards as an outlet..but there are only a handful on people on here that I would want as a true friend and you would be one MD!

Gurl....I already done told you that I already have my seat reserved at the wedding...lol. Seriously, don't let folks get under your skin too much. Believe me...I know that I say some off the wall stuff at times but I know that the folks who TRULY see me...know that I am harmless.  The way I feel is that...it take a special person that has a genuine desire to SEE a person for who they are rather than make a stink about some of the surface stuff that might be presented on here. I know you are a good decent person...so any thing that comes out of your mouth or off your finger tips will ALWAYS be viewed through that filter.  I think most folks on here have good hearts..thats why I keep coming back. The ones that are in attack mode in most cases have issues to work out themselves....so we just have to step back and let them have that space. Its all good....and we will connect soon IRL cuz I feel the same about you.
