So in about 3 weeks I will have to start my 2 week liquid pre-op diet. I am just wondering if some of you could give me any heads up on what is good to eat on this diet? I know they will give me a paper that says what they think will be good, but what have some of you eaten on your pre-op diet? Thanks as always!    :)

During my pre-op liquid phase I had the following items:

Protein shakes
sugar free jello
sugar free pudding
any type of cream based soup with no meat or veggies in it
tons of V8 juice (regular)
tons of sugar free beverages
sugar free popsicles
water, water, water

**When the walls started to close in on me my doc let me have a high protein salad with fat free dressing. (lettuce, tomato, garbonzo &kidney beans, cucumber, banana pepper, green pepper, onion, no meat)

Good luck!
Just a few more steps to wonderland......and believe me I am taking baby steps (ugh).

I never had to do a pre-op liquid diet....if the goal is to like shrink internal organs, I think ~not sure by far~ that you are suppose to stick to clear liquids iike broth. I have known people to do protein beverages and tea...popsicles....smoothies....but since I am not sure, my advice would be to ask the doc's office for a list of potential recommendations!

Congrats on your upcoming date
