Pre-Op Testing Done
Yesterday I went to the hospital to complete all of my pre-op testing. I have an upper GI, chest X-ray, had to give about 12 vials of blood, an EKG, and then see the Dietitian for my second of three insurance company requirement visits. Mix that in with my wife Maribeth's MRI on her shoulder and you have a full morning. I got a call from the bariatric nurse yesterday afternoon and got the following results: chest X-ray was good, EKG showed no heart problems, and I have a little bit of reflux. Already knew that about the reflux. The surgeon's PA wants me to take Prevacid, once a day. And wouldn't you know it, last night I had a reflux attack.
Good news is, I lost three more pounds. This brings me to eight pounds down of the 17 the doctor wants me to lose prior to surgery. All I have left is the third NUT visit which will be on March 24 and that will be it. Off to the insurance we go. Can't wait.
