As a Toyota owner I am pissed.  I have a 2007 Toyota Camry took it in for the recall and found out there was another recall as well.  No apology and I was treated rude...Like they were doing me a favor...oh until someone asked for my phone number!!!! ((((RUDE)))))  Toyota blames the pedal makers like they have no damn responsibility!!!  I am just pissed,,,

First, let me say that I am sorry about your situation. I hope you don't think we were making light of the situation. I created the topic to get some responses from Toyota owners, because I can't imagine that no one on this board owns a Toyota and isn't personally affected by this problem.

It bothers me that this situation doesn't seem to be taken seriously. A few weeks ago, the secretary of transportation said that Toyota drivers shouldn't drive their cars. Oh, like they all have a spare Range Rover in their 3 car garage. WTF?

Most importantly, Toyota doesn't want to own the issue and that bugs me. Reports are coming out that Toyota made the decision to delay a recall because it could save them millions of dollars.... at the expense of American lives. At what point do we place more value on human life? **** a dog's life is more valuable than human life in this country.

As Mack pointed out in another post, why is the head of Toyota driving a BMW and not a Lexus? Is it because he knows his own product isn't safe? It boggles my mind that this has gone on for so long and no heads are rolling.

I hope that your car is fixed and you don't experience any issues. That has to be one of the most frightening things to deal with.

I did not think you were making light of it.  I was just venting.  I also agree about the BMW >>>>  When I complained they said they would give me what the care is worth.  I am like WHAT  I bought my car in 2006 and now with the ruined reputation behind Toyota it aint worth...well you know...

What really is a shame is the total disregard for human life...not just the toyota owner but the people on the road and pedestrians

i convinced and helped my mom purchase her 06 Avalon.  she had an episode in a parking lot where the car almost hopped the concrete parking space barrier - there was a family walking on the sidewalk in front of her at the time.  She totally freaked out, didn't even tell me until months later.

I made her go to the dealership and let her know if they didn't fix that **** RIGHT and QUICK - I would be up there to handle it MYSELF.

Funny thing - they didn't have to deal with the accelerator - they replaced her starter.......... it's push button start - I wonder if somehow that mechanism is faulty and also causing the issue.

My mom hasn't had any sign of the issues she was experiencing since they fixed it - i told her she BEST let me know the minute anything else pops up - cause I will go to the Toyota dealership in my INFINITI and act a damn fool!!!!!!!!

Toyota cars have never appealed to me.

I'm a Ford woman.    My first car was a 1963 Falcon and after that, a Mustang.
I still have my '93 Thunderbird and it rides more comfortably than our new car.
