thoughts on John Mayer?
I don't know how many of you saw or heard about the comments he made during an interview. He compared his d*ck to being a white supremacist and used the N-word. People are up in arms over interview. I did not see the N-word portion of the interview but i read what he was saying about dating black women.
I honestly don't think he is a racist as people are now calling him. I like John and have followed his career and he says dumb ish all the time. He is ****y and always running off at the mouth about something or the other. Two days before he was telling how Jessica Simpson was a freak in bed and compared her sex to crack. However this lead me to start thinking about a couple of issues. It seems today that a lot of things are considered racist.
(Don't get me wrong i know it is still here and exist) but honestly sometimes it seems like people can blink wrong and they are considered a racist. For example, Asian people called Toby Keith a racist after a youtube video surfaced of him apparently making "Chinese eyes" while singing Rapper's Delight with Will Smith.
Also over the last few years i have taken a dislike to the N-word being used by anybody, white, black, Asian, whoever i don't like it. I started to ask myself....okay how can i use this word then be upset when someone of a different race use it. I know people who get upset when a white person use when they sing along to JayZ or Wayne.... i struggle with a situation like that, between wanting to be like hey that ain't cool or just keep it going and not mess up my good time. I mean yes they said it...but then... jayZ said it in a song...and heck when i sing and get into a song i know i dont like to Bleep out words to mess up my flo lol even if i don't like the word in general. Why is it not the same for them?
so i have 3 questions,
For the people who knows what this is in reference to..
(1) were you offended by his comments why or why not?
(2) Do you think today the term racist gets thrown around like hotcakes?
(3) How do you feel about the notion that black people being able to say the N-word and other people not? I know some people see it as us taking back the word or whatever, Is that how you see it? (okay i guess that's two questions in one)

I think the N word has played out, if it was SO OFFENSIVE why does rappers use it just about in all their rap lyrics? I think calling women "*****es" and "hoes" is JUST asoffensive than the N word being used. If some black people want to cry racism every time a white person just REPEAT what they do is very hypocritical.
I personally feel the N word SHOULD BE BANNED, for the following reasons, I believe some of these rappers are so ignorant they FORGET how offensive the N word really is.....
Asblack Americans, the word ****** conjures uphate, hostility, violence, oppression, and a very shameful and unfortunate part of American History. The word symbolizes the everlasting chains of a people plagued with hate and bondage simply because of skin color. For many black people, ****** is the most pejorative word in the English language. Even when compared to racial slurs like **** honkey, cracker, wet back, spic, jungle bunny, pod, tarbaby, and white trash, ****** is noted as the worst insult in the English language. The word ****** suggests that black people are second class citizens, ignorant and less than human
The N word has a very painful past attached to it...why do some black people use it everyday? It is used very frequently ON THIS BOARDin a jokingly way.lol sort of cleaned it up with the word "ninjas" or "niccas".
I do not use that word in my everyday vocabulary ; but MORE black people use it than whites do; this is why some whites feel comfortable using it in a jokingly way too, because black people use it so much...THE RAPPERS even make money from calling each other "*****s".
Also just because he dates black women does not necessarily means he does not have racist intentions..lol...I mean black people call whites..crackers...rednecks and so forth are blacks just as racist too? Regarding his "*ick*...there is a stereotype that all white men can't make love or have small *icks* well...Ihave been on both sides of the coin and I will tell you that is a myth.
1 - nope, not offended. I feel that White folk say all kinds of **** at home and in their cars where we can't hear it - doesn't mean it doesn't get said or felt. I actually prefer those who will say their shiot out loud than the mofos keepin quiet. I myself make the occasional 'cracker' comment......
2 - racist is thrown around more than Kerin Stephen's (aka SuperHead) phone number at a rap concert. Everything is racist. If you have only black pants on sale - you're symbolically devaluing the black contribution to society.....if you got only white cupcakes on display, you're failing to ackowledge black beauty..... urrrggghhhh. Heck, some shiot don't even pop into my head - my mother is real good at making race an issue in a situation.
3 - as for who gets to SAY nicca....well - I do believe SOME have the right and SOME get a pass, and SOME can't EVER say it - unless they follow Chris Rock's rule for white folk sayin it.
If you Black - you can say it. Just don't say it in front of white folk......
I got a Mexican homie married to a Black dude....she's my road dawg and we been 'down' together for a minute - she gets a pass.......
I got a white co-worker that I kid around with, we talk about all kinds of stuff and make jokes - he can say JERRY rigged - but the FIRST time he slips.......... it ain't gonna be pretty.
this is the first time i seen the full interview...got it off another site the orignal one i saw it on
PLAYBOY: If you didn’t know you, would you think you’re a douche bag?
MAYER: It depends on what I picked up. My two biggest hits are “Your Body Is a Wonderland" and “Daughters." If you think those songs are pandering, then you’ll think I’m a douche bag. It’s like I come on very strong. I am a very…I’m just very. V-E-R-Y. And if you can’t handle very, then I’m a douche bag. But I think the world needs a little very. That’s why black people love me.
PLAYBOY: Because you’re very?
MAYER: Someone asked me the other day, “What does it feel like now to have a hood pass?" And by the way, it’s sort of a contradiction in terms, because if you really had a hood pass, you could call it a ni**er pass. Why are you pulling a punch and calling it a hood pass if you really have a hood pass? But I said, “I can’t really have a hood pass. I’ve never walked into a restaurant, asked for a table and been told, ‘We’re full.’"
PLAYBOY: It is true; a lot of rappers love you. You recorded with Common and Kanye West, played live with Jay-Z.
MAYER: What is being black? It’s making the most of your life, not taking a single moment for granted. Taking something that’s seen as a struggle and making it work for you, or you’ll die inside. Not to say that my struggle is like the collective struggle of black America. But maybe my struggle is similar to one black dude’s.
PLAYBOY: Do black women throw themselves at you?
MAYER: I don’t think I open myself to it. My d*ck is sort of like a white supremacist. I’ve got a Benetton heart and a f*ckin’ David Duke c*ck. I’m going to start dating separately from my d*ck.
PLAYBOY: Let’s put some names out there. Let’s get specific.
MAYER: I always thought Holly Robinson Peete was gorgeous. Every white dude loved Hilary from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. And Kerry Washington. She’s superhot, and she’s also white-girl crazy. Kerry Washington would break your heart like a white girl. Just all of a sudden she’d be like, “Yeah, I sucked his d*ck. Whatever." And you’d be like, “What? We weren’t talking about that." That’s what “Heartbreak Warfare" is all about, when a girl uses jealousy as a tactic.
PLAYBOY: In 2006 you began dating Jessica Simpson, and the paparazzi started stalking you, turning you into a tabloid fixture. Certainly you knew that was going to happen.
MAYER: It wasn’t as direct as me saying “I now make the choice to bring the paparazzi into my life." I really said, “I now make the choice to sleep with Jessica Simpson." That was stronger than my desire to stay out of the paparazzi’s eye. That girl, for me, is a drug. And drugs aren’t good for you if you do lots of them. Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me.
PLAYBOY: You were addicted to Jessica Simpson?
MAYER: Sexually it was crazy. That’s all I’ll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm.
PLAYBOY: But before you dated her you thought of yourself as the kind of guy who would never date Jessica Simpson.
MAYER: That’s correct. There are people in the world who have the power to change our values. Have you ever been with a girl who made you want to quit the rest of your life? Did you ever say, “I want to quit my life and just f*ckin’ snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f*ck you, I would start selling all my **** just to keep f*cking you."
PLAYBOY: So at this point—
MAYER: Pardon me for interrupting. I love Jen so much that I’m now thinking about how bad I would feel if she read this and was like, “Why are you putting me in an article where you’re talking about someone else? I don’t want to be in your lineage of kiss-and-tells."
And that is some cole azz kitty that make a mofo sell all his shyt to pay $10K a hit..... Imma need JSimp to come off a 'skills' tape and/or book!!!!!
