OT: Chicago?

I need a tip from my peeps in Chi-Town. 

My daughter will be moving there in the next couple of weeks to start her new job as a Flight Attendant.  They are only giving her 3 days to find a place to live.  Any suggestions on where she should be looking and what areas to avoid?  You know they make stuff look so good on the internet and then when you see it in person you be like  How about finding "rooms to rent" or roomates?  She mentioned needing to be near the Blue Line?  I'm guess that's the train?  Any suggestions? 

Being near the "blue line" can mean living from the west side of Chicago all the way to the north side near O'Hare Airport.  Is she going to work at O'Hare or Midway?

If she is going to work at O'Hare, I would suggest she search for living arrangements in that area.  I would not recommend her traveling back/forth from the west side on public transportation.  As for rooms to rent/roomates - my advice - STEER CLEAR! She is new to the area and has no clue as to what people are about around here...although, rents are not cheap, she may probably be able to find a nice studio apartment in the northern suburbs closer to the airport.
