Need an exercise partner

Hi Everyone, today is my first time actually reading the Black American Forum. I joined Obesity Help in December,and I didn't realize this was available. Wow, this is great! Well, can someone please help me? I am six weeks out and I really would like to get a workout partner. I have gotten a membership at the fitness center in my area, but I don't know anyone. How do  you suggest that I solicit for a workout friend? Oh, by the way I am a little shy.

I have no answer for you but keep exercising with or without a partner.  As you get more active you'll meet other active people.

I have always found exercise partners slow me down and can't keep up and the ones who coud we would go from exercise partners to eating partners, only walking to the nearest Denny's or something.

I do best alone.

Same here.  Instead of a post work out protein snack I wind up with a 300 calorie coffee at Starbucks or a 1000 calorie plate at a diner, lol.
