I eat ALOT of watermelon, bananas and berries. Curious, does fruit slow down the weight loss process?

Thanks,
Annelle

Anything in excess can stunt your weightloss. Watermelons and berries are low on the GI lists. Banannas def  are not. In the beginning I tracked everything I ate on dailyplate.com. Measure your food and know what damage you're putting in your mouth beforehand.

Thanks for the info on bananas. Fruit is one of the only things I can get down without feeling sick and naseous so I tend to eat alot of it. I really need to concentrate on getting in more protein. As well, my hair has been shedding for the past 2 months.

I do eat alot of shrimp and scallops bu****ermelon has become my best friend. I can't get enough of it. I figured since it was fruit, it couldn't do too much damage.

Thanks for your response.

That depends on your metabolism.  Higher carb fruits like bananas may not work for you if carbs slow you down.  Personally, one serving of fruit a day is my limit for active weight loss.

Rather than restrict a particular food I set a carb objective.  Be it fruit or something else, I keep carbs within a pre determined range.

Be careful with the Watermelon because it is exactly what it says "WATER".  It can fill you with lots of extra fluids.  Especially if you are taking in your fluid intake with it.

I limit fruit. I eat it occasionally. Berries are on the lower end in terms of calories.

Looks like I'm sh*t out of luck because fruit plays a major part of my daily diet.  It's one of the only foods, other than vegetables, that I can eat with no issues. Oh well, I'll have to deal with it and pump up the protein shakes (nasty nasty nasty) and exercise. Arrghhh!

Thanks for everyone's response.

I agree with you 100%.

I guess my logic behind eating so much fruit is it's better for me than the other bulls**t I REALLY want to eat...so how bad can it be for me...no matter how much I eat.
As well, fruit doesn't make me sick like many foods do so I tend to stick with what works.

Thanks JAM!
