Did Anyone Watch Pres, Obama Last Night ?

I watched some of it. He is a little long winded but I should be used to it growing up in a country Baptist Church.   There were some stone faced republicans in the crowd and even though he didn't get a "You Lie" moment he did get a supreme court justice shaking his head and mouthing "that's not right" when he wanted to overturn something that that justice voted for.

Hill Harper is so smart because after the speech, Larry King had on all of the pundits and they were tearing the speech apart and Harper said, "Instead of tearing down the speech, why don't we do what he asked and start providing solutions? " He said the speech is past, so since y'all (Hill didn't say y'all, lol)  want change and criticize so much then let's see some proposals that will work. They didn't have anything to say then. All they wanted to say was how such a great orator was so underwhelming and he was arrogant. I don't envy Pres. Obama's position at all.

I didn'****ch. I can't do it anymore. Everyone is pointing fingers and blaming Obama, but he inherited a huge mess. The flip side of that coin is that the spending under this current administration is way out of control and people still don't have jobs. In my opinion, too much focus has been on health care, which we need to get people working.

I also have nothing but utter disgust for these banks that took tarp money, and gave out bonuses. Again, that's a situation that started under Bush, that Obama has to clean up.

One thing under Obama that I will give an F to is Cash for Clunkers program. Okay, maybe its just me but I thought the program was to help the American car dealerships. Please tell me why my dealership, which sells Mini's in addition to the car I have told me that they sold 25 Mini's during the last weekend of cash for clunkers? Shouldn't that money have been only used towards the purchase of an American made car or truck? Did anyone think this thru? Sigh!

So, what I have here now is a good old case of apathy.

Yea – I watched that mess.  I had several R&R and FB posts in regard to it.  I think everybody is realizing WOW – things are too jacked up to fix in a snap – what we gon do now?

Also – the political landscape is so crazy, things have gone so bad for so long, the ride back to ethics and doing the right thing is more like a trek across the Sahara instead of a run to the corner store.

I do think Obama is on the right track – but way too many folk are too interested in winning the pee pee contest and not really trying to help anything.

Ziggy the President did say that if the banks have money to give big bonuses, then they have the money to pay the tax payers back and got a standing O. I don't know if it will come to fruition but he said it and I agree. I haven't been to R&R in a long time, I might have to go read your rants.

And I agree with Obama about the banks and the tarp money. Again, this is a mess he inherited from "Old Chimp Lips" that he has to clean up and is being graded on. That being said, I don't think everything done in this last year has yielded the results we were expecting. We are still in Iraq, there were no tax changes for the wealthy, no new jobs. Sigh! Yeah, I'm apathetic about the whole thing.
