Okay I have not even had surgery yet and I am having issues with my hair. I recently went to get a trim and instead of taking 3 inches off, he took about a foot! I am not exaggerating either. Anyway, now I am wanting my hair back, it took me 10 years to grow my hair as long as it was.(At butt and now at the top of my bra strap, just below shoulders) Ne way, I have read on here that Biotin helps, so I went and bought some but I am not sure how much to take. I am really worried because my hair is shedding as well and I'm scared that when I do finally have surgery all my hair is gonna be gone. Please help.

Damn, sorry about the bad haircut.  Biotin is water soluable so too much is not dangerous.  I take 3-4 capsules a day.  I'm sure I pass most of it out but I want the maximum.

Everyone is not helped by biotin.    For me, keeping protein above 100g and taking biotin stopped the thinning.  However, this is all post op.
I don't know why your hair sheds.  The reason may make a difference.

Great, Thank you so much. I just want to try to grow it out ASAP. Or at least maybe help with the shedding.

I usually just take 1 a day but get the protein in isa must. Also go and buy Nexxuss Emergencee it will stop the hair breakage and sheading. But if you buy it make sure you get the shampoo and conditioner as well. This works wonders.
