Can't remember the name but from sig I know you're for real.  We have the same symbol in our sigs which is how I remembered you.

I just went with using a cartoon version of me, using the same name. 

No more real pics for me, Hubby hated that idea anyway for my safety.  I've experienced a bit of stalkerish crap IRL a while back, so he was not cool about pics anywhere on the web for that reason.

It has really been fun to guess who is who since the changes though!

I was a toon until about three weeks ago.  Finally put up a pick and got a pm from a troll trying to get personal contact info from me.  Then an old troll returnes last week with a new name.  Your DH is right.  No more pics for me.  Sad cause I wanted to post my surgiversary pics next month.  Not gonna happen.

I too was about to add my before & after pics to my profile page after talking w/DH about it, he thought it ok only as long as I were to blur or blank-out my face in order to remain somewhat anonymous, and lock my profile to be available only to those I know.

DH is an expert in the field of network & internet security and spends much of his day cleaning up the aftermath of mis-steps of all flavors by users on the internet.  He and I discussed this topic at length, and his view, which I greatly respect, is that it is much better to be cautious & safe, rather than to assume that things are inany way private when sharing even basic personal information and/or photos over the internet.  He even has all our various passwords set to near sentences in length, complete with numbers, symbols, upper & lower-case letters in the mix for the best level of security. 

There are weird-o's out there that can, will, and do use anyone's likeness to add to the most vile of images and then duplicate that crap all over the web.  The creeps are often from countries on the other side of the globe, where laws differ and there is no system whatsoever in place to stop them. 

Its a crazy world out there!  It pays to be more than a little cautious!
