Remember the days when.......

I think its really going to come down to...not sharing so openly....this is the only way that folks will be able to protect themselves (i.e. no one needs to know where you work, live or play...who your family are etc.. etc..) Will be a much safer place but very restricted. 

I find the whole share feature and the crazy response to it so SAD.  I'm a newbie (have made a few comments here and there) and I actually started reading the BAF on page 500+ so that I could get the gist of what the forum was about and who the posters were.

I also learned SO MUCH...about RNY, side effects, how to manage various problems, etc. Now- will newbies get that benefit!?!?

I'm distraught! And for the record, I haven't made any changes to my profile-although there's not alot to make changes to.

And it's for folk like you I truly hate it for.  I loved sharing all my **** on here, good and bad - all the feelings, body changes, reactions, thoughts, fears, gains, losses, etc. 

It takes a lot to take time to chronicle all that - I enjoyed knowing newbies could sit down and read through my rollercoaster and know they CAN do it - and one example of how it gets done.

And you will definitely be one to have to carry the torch to let folks know that its not safe to put their business out here...moresoever NOW.  You do have an advantage in that you don't have to go back and scrub over 300 pages of your information...you can just start from here to be careful. Lesson learned...even though most of us had the best intentions.

Thankfully, I only ever had 1 pic of the real me (my last avi), here and even that has now been removed. 

Someone close to me who spends much of their workday cleaning up the fallout of mis-steps of internet users was none too happy about the news of the addition of that 'easy-share' blast button.  It is nothing more than a suggestive invitation to blast people's business all over the web where is does not belong, so OH can scrape in some additional ad revenue!  Yes, all was public before this, but an invitation to abuse is just absurd!

What irritates me the most is that we the members were given ZERO notice before the addition took place!

Now with all these name changes I don't know anyone anymore I put a few together by clues of the way they write and colors they use.  Oh how I miss BAF already!!!

 Well, I never had my real pic up, and don't really post as much as others.

There are a few oldies here how post things that crack me up and I look forward to seeing/hearing how others are fairing with their WLS. 

Then there are the TOTALLY OFF TOPIC TOPICS.... Those are the best BAF moments and reasons I keep coming back.
