All is fantastic today.!! I am pretty sure I found the key to my success not only in relation  to exercise, eating but also my girls and my overall well being. I took the time yesterday to search and download a lot of music that I have enjoyed over the years.  Some of its was sad and some of it very energizing. It helped me to think back and process a lot of things about myself. I won't go into all the details here  (perhaps on my blog later) but I feel so light today.  Yesterday, I had the best workout ever. I could have gone for another hour if I had the time. That's how good I felt and that's saying a lot when it come to exercise.

I will share that some of the music I used for my workout took me waaaaaay back.  It took me to the days of going to the house parties and teenage parties at the Webb Center (a black version of the YWCA). I remember holding up the walls so that they would not crash down on anybody. Always hoping that the latest boy I had a crush on would ask me to dance. ~never happened~ Fast forward a few years into college, I became a lot more outgoing. I would go to the house parties and if the guy did not ask me to dance or if I asked  him and he did not want to dance...I would get out there and dance by my dayum self!!! In other words I LOVE to dance!  Even to this day, I love to dance. I have not had many opportunities to do it though because not too much going on in Harrisburg for my age group. The younger crowds have taken over! This is also a part of my business concept!  Ok...this is one of the reasons Houston is enticing to me. There is so much more to do. I felt young down there.

A thought came over me that I need to use my workouts as an opportunity to dance!!! last night when I was on the elliptical...I was really not there at the Rec center.  In my mind... I was at the latest...hottest dance spot and I was getting my groove oooooon....doing the Elliptical Shuffle...LOL! ...heyl...at one moment I was sort of doing the butterfly.  I know everyone around me was thinking WTF! is wrong with that women but I did not care. I was burning calories and the shioot felt GOOD!  I did have to move Montel Jordan's song "get it on tonight" further down on the play list...cuz I think I was doing a little too much bumping and grinding on that song!

The song Bounce Roll Skate is perfect for the Elliptical...cause it took me back to my days at the skating rink....leg movement and the wheels.  I never could do any of that fancy footwork that some of the other skaters could do...I could barely keep it going forward...I was good enough that I did not break my tailbone!  I enjoyed skating though....guess what??? I am going to get skating lessons for the girls and I. Then we can go to the skating rink....and I can get my party on there. Dance on those darn skates.  Now that I am much lighter I know that it will be much easier for me to learn some of those fancy moves.  My kids love to skate but like me...they only know the basics. Isn't this a wonderful idea?!!!! I am thinking of ways to make EXERCISE FUN!!!    I have actually been listening to my IPOD outside the rec center....the music just adds a little more pep to my step...if you know what I mean. LOVING IT!

I guess part of my new focus will be on keeping my play list updated with new found musical goodies that will keep it fresh and exciting.

ANOTHER BIGGIE!!!! I have officially LOCKED the scale up! It will not be my friend during this process. I will focus on my measurements.  The next time I weight will be on 5/24/10 or at the doctors office. My focus is on doing the right things now...wherever I land on that day is where I will land BUT my goal still REMAINS at 180. Who knows...I might make it even further...by staying compliant.  I just need to keep being honest with myself and reporting here...cause this really helps me.

As always, thank you for all your support.

Hey Ptydhughes,

Yes...it does make a difference. Not so boring and monotonous when you let your mind take you away to a better place. Worked like a charm again tonight. Getting ready to make me another workout playlist. This way I can switch them up and one want get to much play....become stale.

Thanks for sharing I need to update my play list on my ipod.  I also need to lock my scale up.  I only worked out for one hour today but tomorrow I will get back to my two hour workout. Thanks for taking the time to share.

Hey Shapely,

Yes...a fresh play list make a difference.  Locking the scale up is the best thing we can do....especially when we are losing fat and gaining muscle....can be discouraging since the scale won't differentiate.
