Snowed In and Need to Get Rid of Fat Stuff
today, and I have decided to go through my closet and get rid of some of my bigger girl clothes since I cant go no doggone where today..AND I lost my cell phone last night. I think there is something psychological about me hanging on to all these clothes because the thought of this task is bothering soo much for some reason. But imma do it, cause this is ridiculous....one packed walk in closet and two store quality rolling racks of clothes in my bedroom. I've 'only' lost 70 pounds, but much of the stuff in my closet I dont wear anymore b/c it hangs off me and I like my stuff to FIT. So...anyone have an experience to share about when they started getting rid of the bigger clothes?

The minute my clothes get loose I ditch them. I did not save a single thing. When I hit new size, the old size goes. If I try it on and its loose, out it goes.
Now that I'm closer to goal, no more clothes until I hit 131 lbs. When I'm at goal, the closet gets one last clear out of todays clothing. Throwing out the big girl clothes is a pleasure.

Free, girl, let me tell you. I'm like MSW, the minute it gets too loose, it's outta here!
Last week I took back $187 worth of clothing back to Lane Bryant and over $200 worth of clothing back to Macy's that I'd brought in the last 3 months. I took that much stuff back, you can image how much I've actually spent. I was loosing weight faster than I could wear the new stuff. I didn't listen to those that said be frugal during this phase and I've really wasted some money in the last 3-4 months. Like you, I like my clothes to FIT. I don't like stuff so tight that it shows every roll and lump I got, but clothing thats too big makes me look even bigger, IMO.
So about 2 weeks ago, I invited my step sister and her sister in law over on a Friday night and we went through my "winter/fall" closet and they cleaned me out. It made me feel good to be a blessing to someone else. Especially people who can benefit from it and who are appreciative and grateful. Now on the flip side of that, while it made me feel good, I also felt really sad once they left. Just like I mourned and missed food after surgery, I mourn and miss some of my clothes now. Of course shopping for new things always makes me feel better, but I think what you're feeling is normal.
But my advice, get rid of it.............and never look back!
