Larry King is bringing the noise tonight. I am so inspired by his show tonight. A slew of celebs... all coming out to bring light to the issue and raise money for Haiti. One things that strikes me about the photos and video I see in Haiti. The people are sooooo beautiful. One artist is now singing in tribute to the people of Haiti. I hope they know that we are out here AND praying for them. Snoop says that that quite a few black artists are getting together to do concerts in an effort to raise money for Haiti.
I have also noticed today that more folks in the Administration and UN are coming out talking about THE PLANS to rebuild Haiti. Now we talking. Hope it translates into action. Looking more positive....
ETA: Just saw report that Wyclef Jean is calling for Mass Exodus from Port Au Prince....very smart man. Seeing him and Garcelle speak out for their country and fellow Haitians is so touching. Prayers going up that they get all the help they need.
I agree that Port Au Prince needs to be evacuated and shelter established away from the hardest hit areas. Roads must be cleared for transport. Survivors must have somewhere to go with centralized distribution of food, water, medical care for lesser injuries.
Disease like dysentary will spread quickly from poor sanitation. The death toll will continue to tremendously rise if people remain in the city.
As we pray for the Hatian people we need to pray for the intellect of those responsible for administering relief today, righ now. Pray that they are inspired to find effective ways to provide immediate relief to survivors; prevent the spread of disease; maintain a sense of hope in the people.
