I think I should seek help...
It took me 3 months to fall in love with my DS. It'll get better. I promise. If I could get through it anybody can.
I had several visions of ways I could jump off a bridge. I just couldn't bear the thought of being a super morbidly obese corpse. Not being sarcastic. I seriously fought through the depression and willed my body to heal from surgery and dehydration, etc. cause I didn't want to die fat.
One thing to consider, is if you were on anti-depressants before, they may need to be adjusted. Also your psych support doesn't have to end with that pre-op eval. You are going through a lot and seeking professional help is nothing to feel shameful about. if you broke your arm, you'd go get a cast right? So if your spirit is hurt, go get it checked out.
At the very least, get active in a local support group. There are lots of us out here either going through or that have been through what you are going through.
If anybody claims they were happy all the time and never had doubts and never had a bad day post op they are a big fat liar! And, you should run (or wobble) as fast as you can in the opposite direction.

I think everybody goes through this phase regardless of what surgery we chose, but this is one of the MAIN reasons I chose the band, I still CAN eat whatever I want but only tiny bites of it and I can still eat my chocolates in peace with no punishment..hang in there I hear things get better for you RNY folks.
