Pat Robertson has lost it

No hate here.  I just don't automatically believe everything that THEY say about US without proof.

In all of my searching on this old wives's tale, I have not been able to find the name of the individual who is the original author of this "documentation", a specific date for when this event supposedly occurred or even the name of any individuals who participated or witnessed the event.

To me this story fits in with the prejudices of the Europeans who could not STAND the thought that black folk could be heroic and defeat them in battle.  Sometimes when people tell a lie enough times, eventually others start believing it's the truth.

I have specific criteria that I consider regarding accepting things that I read as fact.
- What are the credentials and ethics of the author?
- Does the author provide sufficient details?
- Has the material been peer reviewed?
- Can the information be verified by an objective and independent observer?

No one has given me a convincing reason to believe the hype.

do believe in God and I believe He is just.  I don't feel like it's my place to speculate on His reasons for whatever happens in this world because that information has not been shared with me.

Pat Robertson was presumptuous and way out of line.

MD, So Blessed, I love you both so much and thank you for the love in return.  I agree with you So Blessed, we MOST CERTAINLY must consider where the information we are getting is coming from and take it with a grain of salt.  The bible tells us this VERY CLEARLY.  It says we are not to be deceived and blown all over the place by every opinion coming down the pike.  I also know that you are believers.  I hope I never lead you to believe I thought otherwise.  If I have, please forgive me.  Please hear me,  I never said that I in any way, shape or form agreed with what Pat -imma hundred damn years old and half senile-Robertson said and I agree, his statement was offensive.  What I was trying to say is that what he said has been documented both in the "worldly" press and in the "spiritual" document as well and that I believe this is how Satan operates.  He is a divider.  A **** stirrer.  He comes only to kill, steal and destroy, that he is the father of lies.  He has lied to the Haitian people and they have suffered hundreds of years of oppression and poverty and sorrow and death because of HIM not because of Gods wrath against them.

So the fact that this happened historically is in fact....a fact.  But FACTS don't worry me, because I know THE TRUTH and the truth is what God says it is.  I could not agree with you more, God is just.  His judgment is perfect and for the record here I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS IS GODS JUDGMENT AGAINST HAITI.   God says anyone who turns back to me, I am just and willing to forgive.  He said He will protect His people.  I believe that even in a situation as horrific as this is, God is there sending help to his people.

MD, thank you again. It is hard to take a stand on a principle that is hated BUT Gods word says that God hates a Christian who is luke warm.  It makes him VOMIT.  Either be hot or cold, but don't be some kinda, sorta, half way, when it's convientant, long as I make errry body happy, type of Christian ****(AND NO, I AM NOT SAYING THAT ABOUT ANY CHRISTIAN READING THIS WHO DID NOT JUMP INTO THIS WITH ME)**** I am on fire for God.  I am not luke warm.  In the end, it's God I want to make happy and if I am hated, Jesus said "if they hated me, how more will they hate you for following me." So, I'm in good company.

I love you both so much.  I really do.  I repsect you both so much and everyone else who added thought and took a stand, no matter what was said.  I hope that fences can be mended in the future.  The point of it all is to love one another.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...

I have never said that the earthquake was caused by God's wrath on Haiti.  In fact, I said quite the opposite of that.....repeatedly!   I agree, earthquakes are a natural disaster and what has happened to Haiti is as tragic as any disaster is, as is a Tsunami or a flood or a hurricane.  I do not believe that God conjures up disasters or disease to punish people, but He will allow it.  The bible says that God's plans for us are ones of peace and with a good end.

What I said is that Gods hand of protection is off of Haiti.  God didn't bring the earthquake or poverty or disease, but if ANY of us, using OUR FREE WILL, choose to turn away from His precepts and commandments, we can't expect God to continue to keep His protection on us or to continue to bless us.   These is not my words, but Gods word.  Deuteronomy 28:1-68.

What I said and still believe is that this is the work of Satan and as far as Satan's lease being up, as I also said numerous times, Satan is a lier.  He comes to kill, steal and destroy.  Baby Doc made a personal choice to follow Satan and as his loyal follower, Satan placed Him in power to further torment the Haitian people.  Now, because of Jesus's birth and death on the cross for our sins, we can now be forgiven and set free from sin and death.  Which why repentance is the key to healing.

For me Rhonda, its not about agreeing or disagreeing with Pat Robertson, its about what is true verses what isn't.  The truth is most Americans don't even know what the bible says, but will stand on their soup box and condemn it.  I say know the truth and the truth will set you free.

I can't stand cold hearted, unloving, so called Christians either.  I assure you, I am not one to "throw the bible" at anyone.  God is love and true Christians are loving.  I respect how ever you want to worship God, at church, on TV, in front of radio, just as long as you are worshiping God.

No, I don't agree with the way or how Pat made that statement, but the truth is the truth.  Nor was I there when the pact was made, but it is well documented.   I don't believe that anyone "DESERVES" to perish or be punished and I assure you, this is not Gods punishment upon Haiti.  It is the LACK of God's protection upon Haiti.  This is the work of Satan. Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy.  He is the creator and father of lies.  His greatest weapon is suggestion.  "If you do this for me, I'll do this for you".  Satan made the same suggestion to Jesus.  His agreement with Haiti was to rid them of the French if they worshiped him.  He did so...and then He tortured them, he killed them and destroyed them.  That is who he is.

The bible says that people perish for the lack of knowledge and that is true.  Most people DO NOT KNOW THE WORD OF GOD!  The are not aware or prepared for the attach of Satan and fall prey all the time.  Because this sounds so far stretched from what we think is logical, we can't fathom it, but I assure it is the truth.  We are not God.  We can't lean to our own human understanding.  I know this sounds cruel, but that is what Satan is, he is cruel.  Don't blame this on God.  This is all Satan's handiwork.

think what you think cuz I know what I know.  I'm not going to argue with you, but I will say this...

Haitians do not worship the devil.  Haiti is predominantly a devoutly Roman Catholic country

And while I'm at it, for the record and to drive my point...Voodoo is an actual religion.  It's not some evil **** "devil worshipers" use to hurt people-ANY religion can be used for that- It's basically a hybrid of Catholicism and African practices bought over by slaves

That point is relevant because unfortunately voodoo and the "alleged" belief system of Haitians has a bad name because of ignorance.  Christianity is following suit.

I don't know where the hell it is right now, but my bible says something about bearing false witness.  I gotta find that damn thing.

It is never too late to be what you might have been
