I need this but I can't afford that.  Are you sure I'm not gay ? I'm sitting here with a bun in my head and only wear makeup twice a year.    My hubby says that I'm not but that I just like to look like the polygamy wives.

I could give you a gay test but you may want to leave your husband.

If this stuff just gives me enough eyelashes to make it look like I have eyelashes I will be happy.  I am on day 3 now and I swear they are longer.  I took a picture of them before I started, i'll take another in a week and see  if I can tell but I already can cause people keep asking.

I just checked Amazon, they are starting at $26.00.

Naw, I love my man and his man stuff .   I just like being a plain Jane too so that breaks all of the sterotypes of gay women.  lol  I don't need no lashes since I just got my eyes tested and I NOW need bifocals !!!! Maybe they will make my lashes look bigger.

Thanks for the info on the Rapid Lash, Lee!

When the prescription-only Latisse came out, I thought I wanted some up until I discovered that it costs $120/mo! In addition, it only works during regular daily use and the benefits are lost once discontinued.

After a few months of the Brooke Shields commercials, I was still curious and decided to ask a Doc we know about it & see if he might have samples.  He told me to stay the heck away from Latisse due to the side effect they mention on the ad about darkening of the skin around the eyes, especially in African American women.  He told me that both his sisters-in law are mad as heck because they got a prescription from him, tried it, and now look like raccoons by the eyes!!!  He said that they are both darker than me, and he would be far too worried that the same would happen, if not worse.  That shut me down right there on Latisse!

Here is a report by Consumer Reports on Latisse:

Now onto a lighter note...

You said:
I just came back from lunch with friends and when they saw me they were like what the hell is up with the mascara girl.  I was like what the hell are you talking about I don't have on make up.   They were all let me feel your lashes so they pulled them and licked them to see if they would smear before I realized what the hell it was.   LOL.

Licked your eyelashes????   Um, girl, where were you all lunching when your friends took to licking your eyelashes??? LMAO!!!

Sorry!

I was gonna try Lasik also cause I know it works really well.  I have to keep a lookout on the dark eye stuff now,  you got me really nerveous.

They didn't actually lick my eyes, they licked their fingers and pulled my lashes to see if they had black on them.    NOPE.

Well the retail/over the counter product doesn't have the problematic Rx ingredient in it, so hopefully it won't have a darkening effect.  Also, folks with light eye color should avoid Latisse because it can turn their iris brown!  The Rx version is just plain scary, and Doc said it's simply not ready for prime-time.

I'm interested in the Rapid Lash also to avoid using mascara, though I do wear it most days.  I have tattooed/permanent eyeliner top & bottom, (which I LOVE) so longer natural lashes would look great and not cause smearing.

Please keep updating your progress with it.

Will you forgive me for teasing you about the licking?  I'm visual, so it was the first thing that came to mind when I read that!

I too was wondering if the Rapid Lash has the same horrific side effects as the Latisse. The skin darkening (reversible) and eye-color changing (nonreversible) are just too horrid to consider if you're a Black person or simply have darker skin.
