HOLD MY FEET TO THE FIRE! TIME TO BE ACCOUNTABLE
Happy SUNDAY BAF Family! I'm right on time this morning and hopefully from here on.
Tell the whole truth and be accountable. Have you worked your plan well this week? Are you fired up with resolutions that will eventually fizzle or have you remembered this is a total life commitment we've gotten ouselves into?
And for my favorite lurker (You know who you are):
I'm sure some others need to hear this too.
Hope fully you've given some serious thought to the wl issues you've been avoiding. The last time you got back on track, you mentioned how many who where with you at the begining breathed a sigh of relief. They were happy for you. Happy that your surgery would not be all for naught. So many people love you and care about your success. In the end, what any one else sees or has an opinion about is irrelevant. Its all down to how you see yourself. More important, its down to what actions you choose to take. Its down to how you handle the difficult times. Its down to your willingness to start again when you've veered off track. Regardless of how many times you have to restart, success or possible failure is driven by your willingness to get back on your program and stay with it.
The saying is so common it has become cliche, but remember the saint and the sinner. The difference between them is one's willingness to keep working towards the good. The bad is tempting and may at times be all consuming. However, the saint finds his way back with sincerity, albeit time and time again. In other words, as I learned in kindergarden, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try, again.".
Make a plan for this week and take it one day at a time.
Start out knowing your weight. You are not at the point where you can avoid the scale under the pretext of not being scale obsessed. When you are dilligent in your program and consistently loosing you still need to weigh at least weekly. You are not weighing regularly at all. This is how weight gain gets missed untill it is significant. Even at maintenance, you need to weigh for life.
Know what you plan to eat for the week. Know your base maintenance calories for your goal wieght and your current weight. Commit to a calorie maximum never to be exceeded. Commit to a calorie deficit. Look up the calories on line for your nights out. Budget your calories in advance. Track your food intake and know what you really eat. Guesstimating plays to your ego not reality. Use weights and measures and stop estimating your portions.
Eat regularly through out the day. No more high fat high cal meals just cause you did not eat all day. Those meals can easily be well above the calories needed for weight loss in one sitting. Even if you only eat a portion of it. Get enough protein. Know your needs and track your intake. Same with liquids. Get your water in daily. Frequent urination is not as much of an inconvenience as kidney failure.
Commit to five days at the gym. Cardio and strength. You know you can work it seven days if you chose to. You know you can work out a couple of hours at a time if you commit. All I'm saying is get there and do something. Even just 30 minutes, do something five days this week. Know your calorie burn. Then when you're back to regular exercise, make a plan. Talk to a trainer. Have a schedule. Set some goals.
Keep records so you know what works and what does not. I'm not saying to obsess like I do. When you're loosing you need to know what you're doing right so you can replicate it. When you're not, or even gaining, you need something for comparison.
The skin is off the pear. You cannot go back but you still can fail. Of course, failure is a choice. In the comming months, long after you should have been free of obesity, you may debate if the surgery failed you or if you failed the surgery. What would be the point? Put everything you can into this right now. See a doctor with documentation in hand if its not working. See a psych doctor if it goes beyond the physical. JUST DO SOMETHING.
That's all I have to say except that I am praying for your success. For all of our life long success.
... All are welcome, jump in at anytime.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
I woke up this morning with a backache - it's the tail end of TOM, and this ***** ain't leaving quietly. But if she still here tomorrow morning, her ass is going to the gym with me, dragging and screaming if need be! LOL
I did fine with my eating yesterday, treated myself to some chocolate goodies, but wisely did 2 things:
1 - I DID not buy the King size candy
2- only bought what I considered my 'treat' for the day - even though it was on sale, I didn't bring any more into my house than I wanted to consume, therefore - no temptation!
I also did a lot of housework yesterday - I think that jacked my back up too, but it's nice and tidy and clean so I'm happy!!!!!
Today - more housework and then work work - got 18 reviews to write by this Thursday..... PRAY FA ME! lmaooooooooo
About to take my vitamins and I will be working on that gallon of tea for the day as usual!

You got me doing the tea lately. I find its easier to alternate sweet tea (splenda of course) and plain water. With the drink mix I don't want the water at all.
I hear you on buying just what you've allowed yourself as a treat. I've taken to pouring dish washing liquid over any extra before I have my treat. Remove my portion, then destroy the rest.
I'll pray for you and those reviews as I get through all the cleaning I neglected yesterday.
Enjoy the cleaning! LOL I can't wait till I get enough room in my budget to being back maid service......

You brew decaf tea (I love freshly brewed tea)... and you make a simple syrup with splenda??? Splenda is all I use..... didn't know you could make a simple syrup with it... I tell ya you learn something new er'day!!
So you boil water and add large quantity of splenda and let it simmer to make the simple syrup?
BTW... thanks for entertaining my inquiry.

I add the Splenda to ho****er out of the tap ****ep my ho****er pretty hot) and let it dissolve - I've used the straight Splenda and the Splenda Blend - either way, I've found the righ****er/Splenda combo - it's less than 1/2 and 1/2. I did boil it the first time I did it, but found later I really didn't need to boil it, but just let the Splenda dissolve before adding to my tea.
It makes a gallon fly by during the day!
