Insurance

Hey Fam Is there anyone out there that has had plastic done that has BC/BS of South Carolina? I need you to holla at your girl. I am schedule for plastic surgery 1/19/2010 and I just found out that our insurance changed from BC/BS of Florida to BC/BS of South Carolina and they are requiring a precertification before they pay for surgery and that can take up to 2 weeks. I was trying to see if any have had this problem to occur? I was all excited about my surgery. I paid almost  5grand to the plastic surgeon for the abdominoplasty which the insurance will be covering the panniculectomy. I am a nervous wreck right now I have gotten my FMLA approved now its possible that my surgery will have to be rescheduled. Is there anybody out that can help a sista out with some kinda information or encouragement about my ordeal thanks fam for listening

Pre cert for plastics or any high dollar 'elective' surgery is typical.  Your doc office should be able to tell you what the requirements are and whether you meet them, as they have to make and present the case to your insurance for precert.

Hate to say it, but you'll probably be just fine since it's the beginning of the year and they have a new fiscal year.  Later in the year you'd have a tougher time since they are trying to meet budget and profit projections.
