Here's the summary of my latest blog...Lesson is learned and moving forward!!!

So today was my pre-op surgery appt. for my big day(01/14).......  Or so I thought in the last four months Ive GAINED 15 pounds!!! Now I know I had gained but not that much well I was on pins and needles waiting for my surgeon to come in and tell me the words that I dreaded to hear!. Dr. Carlin came in and said "We will have to postpone your surgery" I immediately started balling for about about 15 minutes consoling me was not an option I just had to get it out. But I'd waited four months waiting and thought that the one week liquid diet would help get some of the weight off. I understood where he was coming from on a health stand point but I was so embarrassed that I allow myself to gain this weight in the past four months!

Of course I knew where I went wrong!

1. I stopped journalling what I put in my mouth
2. To many damn last meals(I mourned food so I ate in remembrance)
3.Holidays did me in and I did it up!

Finally get the call my new date is March 11, 2010, but there's something different at the half way point February 10, 2010 he wants me to come weigh in to see where my progress is and if at that point I've shown improvement then they may move my date up!!!

As always I say things happen for a reason, but in this case things happened because I wasn't on my JOB I'm just thankful that I have a surgeon that sees my health as a concern before seeing a quota to meet.

Am I embarrassed that I allowed myself to gain this weight? YES

But am I going to let it defeat me? HELL NO!!!

I share this with my fellow newbies for the simple fact that approval does not automatically guarantee surgery!!!

Thanks God for creating, Jesus for saving, and the Holy Ghost for sustaining ME!

OK now that you know what you did wrong it's time to get your mind right and get it together.  I myself considered the pre-surgery agenda the easiest compared to the everyday work I have to put in now.

Get it together and going the rest of us on the low road.

Wishing you all the luck.

Oh so close! Yep, those holidays will do it every time! Well by February, you'll have lost probably half of the 15lbs, then you've got some more time to lose the rest. Whew! I know you were outdone! "Things always happen for a reason." Yes they do. At least your surgeon didn't holler at you and call you names.

I plan to have the 15 off completely the dietitian gave me a diet to follow so I have my focus hat on and I'm about to get it in.

although this may seem like a major blow, consider it a lesson learned!  i did the same thing too.  doc said  no-no girlie...you needs to re-lose that weight!  so, instead of a date of nov or dec, i was given march 13th.  i kept on my grind and did what i had to do...YOU WILL TOO!  good luck to you.

I commend you for owning your mistakes but ten lashes with a wet noodle for your surgeon.

Working with obese people as he does,  he should have known not to leave you twisting in the wind un supervised for months.  We naturally fall back into our familiar habits when left to our own devices.  Thankfully he is going to monitor you from here on in.

I have to agree totally with MSW said here. Best wishes!
5' 7 3/4 I claim 5'8 SW/CW/GW 267/144/160 <---Dr's goal. My goal was 165lbs. Trying to build muscle. So, unsure what weight I'll be at  once I meet my fitness goals.
