I was 386 on the day of surgery and I am currently at 318-320. I managed to shed a measly 9lbs before surgery.

Though you look totally different and since the years have passed, do you feel like a totally different person now?  That's what I'm looking foward to....looking and feeling like a different person. My shell still hasn't been cracked yet but I'm pecking at it.

Annelle

Surgery Date 9/9/2009
Starting Weight 395
Goal Weight 200
Current Weight 242

153lbs LOST....so far!

Intersting question, Annelle - and my answer is yes and no.  In a lot of ways, my mental perception of myself was me like I am now - but in other ways I had the big girl 'imprinted' on my self esteem.

When it came to my social interactions - you couldn't tell me ****!  lol - I had the 'I am everything' persona when I went out regardless of my size.  Folk who hang with me now that did back then say that I was a 'hot girl' already - didn't need lose weight to gain attitude!  LOL

However, when it came to intimacy with people - anyone on any level - that was a whole different ball game.  It's one thing to have a persona in public, a totally different ballgame to do that **** in private.

So, these days - both 'match'.  And it really wasn't until after my most recent plastic surgery (TT and breast lift) that I finally said to myself 'I am done and I am happy with me' and let it all go.  So now - YES, I do feel like a different person on the outside and inside totally, all the time, 24/7.  Took a LONG time to get here, but like Maya Angelou said... WOULDN'T TRADE NOTHIN FOR MY JOURNEY NOW!

LOL - just make sure you work on your mental as hard as you do your physical - cause they are equally important.

oh!  and I'm Trina by the way - nice to meet you!!!!

Guess?  Ok, not me but I can't resist!      You're tall and well toned and pretty slender in your pics.  So I'm going to guess, uhm... size 10?  Perhaps 8's as well? Am I right, am I right???

you tryin to be nice with all the toned, slender talk????  LOL!

actually - 8's, 10's and 12's - depends on the cut/maker.  You're dead on!

In MY head - I weigh too much to be this size......

No need to be nice (but I am ) .  You're three inches taller than me plus you do full body weights often enough to rival prisoners.  You've got to be tight and toned!

That wasn’t me, I don’t remember who it was though.  I kinda think it’s crap – BUT…… right now, I am 5’7’’ and weight 200lbs as of this morning.

Guess what size I wear?

WOW! I would not have imagined ....I am 5'8 and 217 as of this am...I am wearing mostly 18s. I can wear some 16s if I don't mine my back hurting after they cut the circulation off to my spine. To think I might be in a size 12??? at -17lbs is very motivating. I know...I know...I should not compare.  I carry all my weight now in my tummy, love handles and breasts.  When I slide my shioot to one side and look at my profile....I just know I am going to be straight once I get to 180 and get my tummy tuck.

See - I carried my **** in the same places - had a TT, breast lift AND I have been a mad dog in the gym..... so - make sure you do the TOTAL package..... I'm just sayin..... cause without all the working out, ain't no WAY I would be in my 12s - and just so you know - I have just been back in the gym 5 days a week for one month - at the beginning, I was 200 and had been out tha gym for about 3 mos - my 12s was HOLLERIN even WITH a girdle - now..... I'm skrait - they aren't loose, but they fit jussss right...... another month - I'll be back like *I* like to be.

Ooohhhh you know I needed to hear that...cause my ass has been trippin on the exercise. I am definitely going in tomorrow and hook up with a trainer.  I called two before the xmas break and I am just realizing that neither got back to me.  It will help to have a little live guidance to start.  I am also going to crack the Lifting book back open. So basically..you are a 200 with tone and I will be a 200 with fat....I understand exactly what you are saying.   I know that you had got down below 200 and with the toning....weight will increase because muscle mass is of course heavier.  So do you focus more on the way clothes fit and sizes rather than the scale now.  I would imagine being focused on the scale at that stage can be discouraging.
