An Encounter with and Angel...literally
Hey BAF Family,
Yesterday evening I was going through a box of old things when I found a pen that was given to me by a man I met on a New York City subway. His name was Sam and he worked as a token clerk. It brought back a powerfully touching memory. I sat there for a moment remembering him when suddenly I realized, he was more than a kind man, I had an encounter with an angel....literally.
I was 20, living in New York (Astoria Queens, to be exact) with an apartment full of friends sharing the rent, working, part-time modeling and for the most part, semi-starving most of the time.
One morning, while heading to work, I had a conversation with Sam. I can not remember how this conversation began, but somehow I revealed to him that I needed 100 dollars and that I was going to ask my mother, who lived in Canada, for it. The next morning, I saw him again. He called me over and handed me a 100 dollars cash. Okay, I was young and somewhat naive, but I had seen enough and lived enough to know that he may have had an ulterior motive and I didn't want to take it, but he insisted. He was so kind. He was black, tall, thin, in his mid 30's with a kind face and gentle spirit and I was in such serious need of the money, I took it in spite of my concerns. I promised to pay him back in a few days when I got paid. He just smiled at me. He never asked for anything else from me, not my phone number or where I lived. He just smiled at me.
A few days later I did what I said I would do, I went to pay him back. He wasn't at his normal station and so, I had to literally chase him down the subway for a few stations until I found him. When I found him and went to return the money, he wouldn't take it. Instead he handed me a pen, with a cute little fuzzy Kahlua bear glued to the top of it. He smiled at me. After that, I NEVER saw him again.
God sent me what and who I needed. God sent me an angel. As we go through our lives, we may never realize how often God does that, but He does. I think it's important to recognize and be grateful and thankful to God for all that He is and does for us so....
Have you had an encounter with an angel?? Speak on it!

Such an awesome story!! Just shows us how much FAVOR we have and we don't even know it!
I know there are countless times when God has put someone in my life for a reason and actually it happened just recently.
My son is out of school and being a single parent these two weeks are the hardest to find a babysitter. Luckily my mom was able to help out when she could. But this week Monday and Tuesday I had NO ONE to watch him...It got down to Sunday and still no one! Leaving church my friend who I hadn't had a chance to talk to in sooo long and is like the biggest Kool-aid mom ever. Like hey what is Jeilon doing for the next few days??? I was like nothing hes out of school. She said well can he come over? Now I hadn't said a word to her about keeping him. I could have started crying right then and there(I'm tearing up as I type this)
When I tell yall I know GOD watches over me because it's not about money or material things but I know He is my keeper and sends ANGELS my way on the regular!!
