I am 7 weeks out of surgery. 40lbs gone. I have a high sex drive all of sudden. Ive had sex twice unprotected since surgery ( dumb i know) both has been long and crazy experience. If I get my birth control patch soon is there any way I couldve got pregnant this fast after surgery?

I guess you'll find out in a month or so. Anything's possible. A woman on the DS board was pregnant and didn't know it at surgery. It's a long road keeping your protien and vitamin deficiencies at bay when you can hardly eat much.

Please pre-ops get your birth control method before surgery. Getting pregnant during the fast weight loss phase will not be healthy for you or the baby.

Nope, she didn't lose the baby. She did have to be very very closely monitored. Your blood levels must be checked all the time. It's just so much harder, not to mention all the added stress. I didn't mean to scare you that she had lost it.

A lot of obese women have trouble with menstral regularity. Just losing a lil weight could get that in check. Please be more careful and make your GYN appt immediately!

When I first heard the story I was like....how did they not know? But then I thought about my surgery intake. They sure enough didn't do a preg test on me day of surgery. So maybe it's not standard across the board.

Yes, you can get pregnant. Stop having sex until you can get on a reliable form of BC.
