Should I be Concerned ?

Hey thurr Killa,
know that I am keeping you and your family in my prayers and as a person with a chronic illness truly understand the frustration, worries, financial strain, family and spiritual dynamics involved as we travel this difficult journey.

It is not easy when an illness has invaded ones life. Often times we need a little support and that is when God steps in to see to it that we can travel this journey with support and other needs met, but in his time, not ours. We believe in the power of prayer and healing, yet we realize that it can only come in his time, not ours. We also accept that it may not come because it does not come to all, so as we continue to travel this journey we must continue to focus and stay in tuned to what it is that God seeks for us to learn and do throughout the course of our affliction.
He loves us and will not give us more than we can bear.

I tell people all the time that there is nothing like a good old fashioned chronic illness striking to get ones attention in regards to what it is that God would have us to do for the greater good in the same or similar situations as ourselves.

I am certain of two things, and there is no other way that I could have my certainty if it were not for me learning that I have Multiple Sclerosis:

1. I am certain that once I had the correct diagnosis that God has called me to do what I do. No matter how down my body gets, he gives me the strength to endure and do his work no matter what time of day or night and it has yet to cease. I do not know WHY he chose me but I am so glad that he did. Each time that someone is helped I feel better so I accept my fate with strength and dignity.

2. I am certain that once the correct diagnosis is made and treated properly that you will begin to get a handle on it and feel better. At that point you will be happier and be able to resume some of the activities that you had prior to your illness and will know your limitations.

Hang in there, I will call once you feel up to talking. Or you can call whenever you feel up to it. I'm here.

Don't allow Brittany Murphy or any other death worry you. Our time is our time, but we as humans tend to look at the cir****tances instead of the simple fact that when God calls we've gots ta go because we all have an appointed day and time and we all die from the same cause...our organs fail and the heart ceases to beat.

Hey Neenaj!

I am praying for you and that you get the answers and healing in regards to your health issues.  I found a few resources on the web that might help you with the co-pays.  I have not used them myself but if you get to the point where you think you might want to apply for help, let me know and I will help you investigate them  further. Hang in there!

Programs that Assist with Medication
Co-pays

Some organizations offer to help insured patients that are having difficulty paying the co-pays for their medications or their insurance. These programs are for very specific diseases or medications. Some of these programs include:

Caring Voice Coalition was established early in 2003 to serve comprehensive needs of all individuals affected by serious and chronic disorders, through collaborative efforts and partnerships with organizations established to serve those patient populations.  Current programs include:  Insurance Reimbursement and Advocacy, Vital Relief (need based financial assistance limited to certain disorders or medical conditions), Compassionate Care (counseling and counseling referrals) and Public Advocacy.   Visit: http://caringvoice.org/

The Chronic Disease Fund, a non-profit organization founded in 2003. Its focus is to provide assistance to those under-insured patients who are diagnosed with chronic or life altering diseases that require the use of expensive, specialty therapeutics.  Visit:  www.cdfund.org

The HealthWell Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2003 to address the needs of individuals who cannot afford their insurance copayments, premiums, coinsurance, or other out-of-pocket health care costs. Visit: www.healthwellfoundation.org

The National Marrow Patient Assistance Program and Financial Assistance Fund. The Marrow Foundation is the fund-raising partner of the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP). Funds from this program help patients pay for searching the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) Registry and/or some post-transplant costs. Applications for Patient Assistance Program funds must be submitted by an NMDP transplant center. Eligible patients may ask their transplant center coordinator to apply for one or both programs. Call 1 (888) 999-6743 or email [email protected].

Visit: www.marrow.org/PATIENT/financial_assistance.html

The Patient Access Network Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the needs of patients that cannot access the treatments they need due to out-of-pocket health care costs.  Visit:  www.patientaccessnetwork.org

The Patient Advocate Foundation, a national non-profit organization that seeks to safeguard patients through effective mediation assuring access to care, maintenance of employment and preservation of their financial stability. The Patient Advocate Foundation's Co-Pay Relief (CPR) Program provides direct co-payment assistance for pharmaceutical products to insured Americans who financially and medically qualify. The Program offers personal service to all patients through the use of CPR call counselors. Visit: www.copays.org

Patient Services Incorporated, developed in 1989, is a non-profit charitable organization primarily dedicated to subsidizing the high cost of health insurance premiums and pharmacy co-payments for persons with specific chronic illnesses and rare disorders. PSI is committed to assisting persons with chronic medical illnesses in accessing health insurance and pharmacy co-payment assistance. Families requiring assistance in maintaining the high cost of their health insurance premiums or co-payments are offered assistance based upon the severity of medical and financial need. PSI offers a "safety net" for persons who have expensive chronic illnesses and for those persons who "fall through the financial assistance cracks.

Neenaj

So sorry to hear what you are going thru.  You look fabulous
but I know looks matter little when you don't feel well.  I understand
just getting tired of feeling bad all the time.  It doesn't help when you
can't get a clear diagnosis.

I pray that God show you an immediate maniffestation of his power
to heal, set free and deliver.  We know that God can do what no man can.

Have a blessed Holiday Season!!!!
