Frugal Tips Time CauseTis the Season!
Got things coming up? Time to stock up on it!! Hit those after Christmas sales for upcoming b'days, graduations, weddings... Also a good time to get stocked for next seaon. Things like gift sets, holiday decor, accents, wrapping paper, food,.. Any thing packaged with a holiday theme will all be reduced at 50% or more!! One year I got panties from walllyworld for 50cents because they were holiday themed. No shame in my game wearing panties that had snowlfakes on them in July!
TIme to stock up on the Pepsi!! Target has the 12 pack cans or 6 pack bottles for $1.50 (ymmv) after sale price & coupon. I will be hitting this sale hard for our family reunion in June, as that's 12 cents a can, you can't buy shasta for that anymore. Here is a pdf for the coupons.

There are also free-almost free offers from Target through Saturday if matched with their coupons (www.target.com):
Archer Farms Ham
Kodak Disposable Camera update: they have now changed the wording of the coupon to exclude the disposable. If you printed the coupon before the update, they will honor it.
Rayovac Alkeiine batteries
Renu travel sized solution (bausch.com)
Walgreens is going to have the Olay Quench on sale for 20% off next week. So if you made copies of the coupon from when I posted a few weeks ago, that will be a great tme to redeem them, as they expire on 12/31. However this deal is sweet, as when you purchase $30 worth of product, this being one of them, you get a coupon for a free 50 0z Tide detergent.
The prices seem to vary by store for the Quench, as we only have to Walgreens & one has them starting at $5.99 & the other $6.29. So I will use the following scenario at the higher price:
Six bottles of Quench lotion $37.74
+ 7% tax=$40.38
-20% off sale price=$32.83
- $3.00 cpn x3=$23.83
-BOGO cpnx3=$4.96 Out of Pocket & Free 50oz Tide coupon after purchase.
I'm stocking up on these for several reasons, for our clothing closet & gift bags for the fm
Another stock I'm doing is the Glade holiday candles. There is no shame in my game when it comes to saving $$. The tins have $1.50 coupons in them, the plastic candleholder has $2 off 2 & I have been collecting these like crazy (the coupons that is). Also the refills have the $2 0ff 2 as well, but there's no way to get to it unless you open it. Walgreens Kmart & Walmart I know for certain has these on stock. Prices vary as WM has them for $2.25 & KM has them for $2.79. They do have a few scents that you can use year round like the Apple Cinnamon & the French Vanilla. Since there may be mayham, I suggest grab what you want first & then check for the coupons, you can use them towards that purchase, so it would be ok to say open up the refills to get the coupon if you are buying it. You do have to flip it over & look for it under the top, as not all scents have the coupon.
The coupons in the tin if there, will be laying right on top. I found that a lot of the plastic holders, which have a partial enclosing had all of their coupons, as people didn't realize that , as it's kind of tucked underneath the enclosure, all you have to do is move it around a little & it will work come into view.
So if you find any $1.50 coupons or the store drops the price lower than the coupon, buy some fillers, as they otherwise won't give you cashback for it. This is how it should play out:
Glade Candles at 1/2 off @ $1.13 x15 w tax $18.14
-$1.50 off x15= overage of $4.36
will need filler to use up overage
If you don't allready, start couponing religiously. Buy 2-3 sunday papers at a time to keep multiple coupons on hand,, Ask co-workers, friends & family to give you theirs if they don't use them. Fast food restuarants always have papers on hand from the morning crowd on Sundays, snatch em up! Then keep a eye on ads & instore coupons for retailers like CVS, Walgreens, Target, Riteaid, Cubs... because you can stack their instore coupons with manufacturers coupons, which can mean your cost could be free or just pennies out of pocket if you play the game right.
smartsource.com & coupons.com are 2 online coupon resources.
When you find something dirt cheap, STOCKPILE!! Especially if it's got a long shelf life. I still have another 2 years before I have to buy tampons again, because I stockpiled on a register rewards deal from Walgreens over 2 years ago & this is even after I gave at least 40 boxes+ away to our clothing closet, family & friends. I was almost down on my last few pads from the same deal, when Walgreens had similar offer, so i'm good for at least another year. I'd say between the 2 buys I got over $500 of personal products for only $50.
My local aldis has marked down their 3LB bag of sweet potatoes from $2.57 to 99 cents.
Pfaltzgraff.com is having a $1,$5 $10 & $20 sale through Jan 11th. The parent company also represents Faberware & Kitchenaid which has items represented in the sale. Shipping is approximately $9.59 (YMMV). I think the sale started last night, so there are still a lot of great bargains to be had. I picked up several items for under $27 all in....of course with the exception of my Kitchenaid meat injector which was $5, all the rest were from the $1 sale!
So what are your tips?

Hi,
I don't have a tip,, but I do hunt down coupons all the time. Especially liquid laundry soap. I hang on to the coupon until it goes on sale., and sometime I wait until they run out, and get the rain check, at the sale price, and use the coupon when it comes in. I don't have a favorite brand when it comes to laundry soap. This past summer I had bought so much my hubby told me to stop. I had over 50 bottles in the cabinets and closets, and another 15-20 in the trunk of my car.
BUT,,, I never and I do mean NEVER, remember to buy bleach. Can't figure that one out yet.
Something that I did two years ago I'm planning to do again in 2010. I do most of my shopping at Stop and Shop, plus I basically take care of my 80 year old sister, so I do all of her shopping also. I go to to the dollar store, or to a toy store and buy a bank. One that doesn't have the hole in it which makes it easy to get the money out. Everytime I walk into Stop and Shop, I hang on to my receipt. When I get home,, what ever my "savings" were, whether from using my store card, or from coupons, I put that money right into that bank. If it says I saved $1.09 or $23.99 whatever it says, it goes into that bank.. You really don't miss it., at least I don't, and in Dec, you have some extra money. Infact Stop and Shop tells you what your "year to date savings are", on your receipt each time you go shopping, if I had done it this year,, I would now have over $500 dollars in that bank. So I'm definitely doing it this year.

Girl, I was excited when I saw them marked for 99cents, then yesterday evening I read someone else's aldi's had marked them down to 59cents! Mine has an overabundance so I'm looking for them to be marked down after Christmas. I wonder if cooked sweet potatos freeze well?
I'm always impressed when a man can throw down. One of my faves is a cold slice of sweet potato pie!
